I think even the TNG period stated that crossbreeding required extensive medical oversight and manipulation to even work properly.

Didn't stop him from appearing on Discovery, and again Spock's mention in passing wouldn't require his presence.

I never did mention where Work put his "second nacelle" when he was mating with another species.
But i guess it explains why Dax had a thing for Klingons

The guy they found in the time ship on Enterprise had multiple alien ancestry, Phlox even found parts of aliens he didn't know about and it was from an earlier time than the 32nd century.

I liked it overall, though I'm not sure it really earned the title. I mean yes, in some sense this is picking up a thread from 'Unification', but at the same time it really doesn't get into it all that much. The episode is mostly about Michael working through her personal drama. Did we really need a Tilly b-plot in *this* of all episodes? Couldn't it have waited to give this episode to get a look at how Vulcan and Romulan society has integrated? There's a little of it here, but it's really just a backdrop for Michael's mum to randomly pop back up.

The Nimoy clip was very welcome though. An especially nice choice since it's the last time we really saw Spock before the Bad Robot movies.

Still not everyone will be mixed. It just won't happen.

How is the Fed supposed to come back from the loss of all but one of their founders? How can they convince anyone to rejoin when they'll all say, "If Earth can do without the Fed, if Vulcan can do without the Fed, maybe we can too".

Michael will prove that Ni’Var did not cause the Burn, do something heroic that shows the Federation is worth saving and give an inspirational speech that convinces everyone to rejoin the Federation.

Burnham: Everyone. After the Burn, I understand why you did not trust the Federation, why you might not have trusted me. I will see to your safety, and when you are safe, I will become an advocate for the Federation. I will speak to worlds with the Federation's voice. And the worlds will listen to me and rejoin!

Soong: No, they won't. Look at them. They've never met anyone like you before. That face, wisdom and integrity etched into every line. The eloquence, the conviction, the tears. They don't know what hit them. Back in the 23rd century, people, they didn't listen to her. And they're not going to believe her now.

Decent. One 'yes that promotion was bloody obviously going to happen,' and one good surprise. Nice use of TNG footage, and nice following on from Picard's first season. Also, yay for Space Catte and the USS Yelchin. Saru's on, there, too..
