So, Seven of NIne spent 20 years without using her regeneration chamber? How does that work? (They didn't explain how it worked in the episode, either.)
She had her portable regenerator, which she also modified over the years to be very small. The aliens on the planet had created a memory, that she was sick and needed that (medical) machine to regenerate for 3 hours each day, so there was nothing strange about it.
Why did anybody go to the theater to see a cast of mostly strangers playing characters they'd never heard of or cared about before when seeing "Battlestar Galactica" from 1978? (Lorne Green aside, of course, the Star Wars craze was likely the reason but the days of big special effects holding a movie together are long gone... ) Unless the movie managed to make her sympathetic. Look at Chancellor Gorkon from ST6. It takes a lot, on paper and in acting, to set up a character to strongly emote to despite never having seen the character before. Okay, he was a villain, and wasn't a recurring character in a premiere movie to spawn a number of sequels, but the same principles can work for the heroes too. Like Harry Potter.
There's a difference. in 1978, Battlestar Galactica didn't already have three previous TV series and seven feature films produced before it.
I have an idea for a crazy way "Resolutions" could have played out... The plasma storm hits, maybe a bit earlier. Or it takes Voyager longer to get the medicine. Janeway accepts her and Chakotay's situation. The two of them replicate and share a bottle of something, then share something else. Shortly after they are rescued, Janeway reports to the Doctor with unexplained nausea. The Doctor tells her that... yes, you guessed it. She's pregnant. What happens next? * How does Janeway respond when the doc tells her to lay off the coffee? * Does her relationship with Chakotay unfold differently? * Does this new development prove the catalyst for Voyager becoming a generational ship? Do more characters pair off and marry? * Or does Janeway make a choice that makes her character Planned Parenthood's poster child? It didn't happen, and probably a good thing. But it's a great "what if"!

I think Graham Greene would make an interesting Chakotay and Tom Everett Scott would be a fun Tom Paris for a Voyager film that had been made in the 90s.
Fun bit of trivia... the actress who played Leah Brahms was also considered for the part of Janeway. If she had gotten it, I can see the meme now...
