That's about the only advice that I can give you..
Seems like an off-brand Wacom tablet. Nice! Don't push too hard on the screen, mainly. And when you're drawing, everytime you use a colour, make a "splotch" to the side of the image so that you can easily select that colour again when you need to. Also: hotkeys. They'll make your life easier a lot, because you can swap between actions faster than what you can do with the stylus in your hand. I'd also experiment with using the mouse in your non-dominant hand; my experience with that in SketchUp, stylus right and mouse left, was quite positive.
So how's the tablet working out, Soran? I've been toying with the idea of getting a tablet for digital painting and some animation stuff, but have no idea what to look for. Years ago I had a small Wacom pad and pen that connected to my computer via USB cable, but it was too jarring trying to draw without looking at the "pencil". Some of the stuff tablets can do now is just amazing. Anyone got any recommendations?
That's interesting. I bought a huge serial-interfaced tablet for my Amiga back in the late eighties, and it took me a while to get over that very problem. But eventually, I took to it as soon as my eye coordinated with the screen pointer instead of the stylus. I continued to use that big thing up until around 2009 or so when I bought a smaller USB Wacom (my first one is still under my desk ... right ... there). That version had a clear shield that let me slip photos and sketches under the shield for tracing, but I soon realized that really was cumbersome since now I had to go back to watching the stylus instead of the screen.
Today, there are all kinds of new features that I'm anxious to try, including tilt sensitivity. But I don't know if I want a screen on it. I think I'd rather keep things as they are.
When I got my tablet I had to do some searching to find software that would support pressure sensitivity, I eventually settled on Autodesk Sketchbook it's got a nice, clean interface. The full version is now free if you create an online account.
But, I've recently started using Clip Studio Paint Pro, which is more powerful (including vector drawing and 3d guide figures/objects) and it's reasonably priced.
I guess it depends on which features you want.

I recommend Krita; it's open source and platform independent. It even supports animation.
