How the fuck do we have 7 pages worth of thread over the bloviating opinion of a jackass blowhard that's made himself persona-non-grata with the powers-that-be at Paramount over his connection with Axanar?
That’s how the Interwebz works. I have no dog in the race, I’m here with popcorn looking at all the people react and say they don’t care... for TEN pages.

I'm so old, I remember when Voyager and Enterprise were the dumpster fires.
Not really. They were and are mediocre afterthoughts.

I did like ENT, nonetheless. Haven't watched an episode since it folded on UPN, though.

That’s assuming he isn’t just making it up. He probably heard a third hand rumour and lost his shit. I’m going to do this crazy thing and watch it myself and see what I think. I know... madness.
Could be legit, he was asked to take the tweets down.

Or he could be talking out his ass about that too. We’ll know for ourselves in a few weeks.

What I can hilarious about the original tweet is that RMB says that he has an association with modern Trek to sever, a word we usually use for relationships of amiable, professional standing. He's just an audience member. Who watches an episode of TV they don't like and thinks, "I just don't know if I can continue to be associated with this!"

I hope CBS sends him a thank-you card for drumming up hype.

I have to agree. Harlan only contributed to one episode of TOS, just putting his name in there is a big spoilery hint.

I think there should be a spoiler tag on this thread.
Yeah, I was about to post and suggest that spoiler tags be added to this thread. No reason this be spoiled for people watching the show, especially those enjoying it.
I added a spoiler prefix to the title.

Burnett is something of a special case. In spite of his bitterness that he could not turn Axanar into a fabulous movie career, he obviously knows a lot about Star Trek, enough to have made money off of it. His involvement in the Fandom Menace lends them an veil of credibility that they do not deserve. His incomplete insights and observations are interpreted as complete truths, which in turn inspires people to come to boards, like this one, to post, "[insert name here] is destroying Star Trek."

My understand is the problem is that because the GOF has taken human form that when he says "Let me be your gateway" and drops his trousers and bends over - it's leads to a terrible misunderstanding and they phase him.

Too bad. Sounds like goatse led a long and fruitful life up until that point.

We joke but if Discovery does make Michael or Michael's mom the Guardian, that would be absolutely horrible IMO.
I think the scary thing is that we even think it might be a possibility. Discovery seems hell bent on making Burnham the most important person in the history of Trek. Needs to be involved in all important events in Trek

bent on making Burnham the most important person in the history of Trek.
Even if that were true, I seem to recall TNG literally ending with Picard saving humanity from an anomaly that he himself caused. Sisko is the son of a super powerful alien worshiped as a deity. Kirk is so important no one after the 2260s can namedrop the 23rd century without mentioning him, even Romulan miners like Nero and El-Aurians outside the Federation like Soran. Kirk's mission is claimed to be extremely historic even though I have no doubt 'Strange New Worlds' probably will make Kirk's missions look dull. Archer basically created the Federation, and it would never have been formed without him.

Sisko is a deity.
Well I suppose since DS9 ended he has a deity's penchant for not actually showing up.

Conspiracy Theorist Steve Levy from Lower Decks: Benjamin Sisko never actually existed. He was a fabrication made up by the Bajoran religion and the Federation to use against the Cardassians. Not surprising he's connected to the Battle of Wolf 359, a well known inside job.

Jake Sisko: Um, my dad totally existed. Look at all these holos. Who led the Federation to victory against the Dominion?

Steve Levy: Ok, where is he?

Jake Sisko: He'll be back. For now, look at all these photos, videos and holos that prove my dad's existence.

Steve Levy: That's just Gabriel Bell's face deepfaked over a random Starfleet officer.
