"You may not be aware of this, Lieutenant, but I once conceived a half-human, half-Vulcan child with a former shipmate of whom I was quite fond. Our offspring was the first known child conceived with human and Vulcan DNA."

"Fascinating. Your service record failed to mention that."

"For reasons I choose not to elaborate upon."
Spock: I too keep things out of my service record. In fact, my name and that I’m from Vulcan are the only things in it.

To DSC's credit they haven't mentioned nor even alluded to the Romulans even once over the course of two whole seasons, even when the hint of a Romulan alliance with T'Kuvma's sect would have helped explain their cloaking device. So far the series is rigidly conforming to TOS continuity regarding the Romulan isolationism prior to the Neutral Zone outpost attacks.
Should be interesting to see how DSC handles things in "Unification III".

I'll be genuinely surprised if in the episodes leading up to it, or the actual episode itself, they actually show Burnham or the rest of the Discovery crew learning about the Romulans. I have a sneaking suspicion they'll gloss over it. They'll do one of two things:

1) Have a hand-wave where they say they're caught up on the history of the galaxy since they left but still have to figure out what exactly caused The Burn.

2) Not bother with hand-wave dialogue and just pretend as if they already know about the Romulans and people like me will have explanations like, "They learned about them while we weren't looking."

Either one of those seems just about as likely as the other.

The Emperor in exile will say something snarky about figuring out who the Romulans a long before the dullards in the Prime Universe did.

T'Pol - a wise move, do not even reveal that you have siblings to anyone, unless it is necessary.
Spock: Siblings? You are mistaken, I only have one sibling.

T'Pol: That is incorrect. Along with your half-brother Sybok, Michael Burnham was legally adopted by your father Sarek as his ward.

Spock: I know of no such person.

T'Pol: Lieutenant Spock...

Spock: I. Only. Have. One. Sibling.

(Starfleet Intelligence officers arrive out of nowhere to take T'Pol away)

Admiral Marcus: T'Pol, despite your long history of service to the Federation this delusion you have of Lieutenant Spock having another sibling is of serious concern to the security of the Federation. Now, let's go through this again. How many siblings does Lieutenant Spock have?

T'Pol: Spock has two siblings.

Marcus: No, he has one. Are you quite sure?

T'Pol: Spock has two siblings!!

Given Discovery's existence is 90% fan-service (and that's what I love about it!) ready, willing, and more-than-willing to go into minute Star Trek trivial explanations, I expect a big shocking reveal once they learn Romulans are Vulcan cousins, with Michael giving the explanation how it fits into ancient legends of exiled cultures.

It's not going to be glossed over. It will be a major scene, met with some eye rolls.

Continued...
Admiral Marcus: "Once more..."

T'Pol: "THERE...ARE...FOUR...LIGHTS!"

Admiral Marcus: >Sigh< - [Over office intercom]: "Janet, place a comm to Temporal Investigations please, I have another one here..."
;)

Sarek never adopted Burnham so legally Spock is correct lol

A foster sister by definition isn't a biological sister so, yeah, even if Discovery and her crew and missions hadn't been classified Spock could always say that she was never his "real" sibling. It's stretching truth but Spock's always done that even when he pretended he didn't.

Adira - the non-binary character who refers to the Discovery as a "museum" in the 'This season on' trailer - is a 32nd Century Starfleet officer, as is the FTM Transgender Trill character Gray whom we saw in pre-release trailers.
Not sure that is a definite representation of what a SF uniform will be though its just a plain blue jumpsuit

On Ent, Captain Archer, who was new to deep space travel, started saving the galaxy in his first year leading the Ent crew. Just like TOS, Ent used a “ big 3” concept, with Kirk, Spock, and Bones, being the 3, which meant Archer and Kirk were at the heart of just about every A story.

Picard started saving the galaxy n his first year on the 1701D. Yes, he was an experienced starship captain, but Burnham is an experienced Starfleet officer.

I get it if you don’t like Burnham or the actor playing her, or women, or Black women, but complaining that Burnham is too big a part of each story, or she gets too much screen time is just plain silly and a bit disingenuous.

I respect every opinion, but do not play the sexism/racism card to me. I see it very often recently in the ST community, that everyone who dislikes Burnman must be some kind of sauvinistic racist pig. Is this the best argument you have? Has it crossed your mind that there can be people out there who really can't stand of her character without being white supremacists or something?
Not that I have to explain myself, but fyi I am a woman and my favorite ST character is a woman.

I find Burnham an annoying and uninteresting character that is very very badly written and I insist that she is way too much the epicenter of Disco. And that has nothing to do with her skin color or her sex.

Could it be because she is the STAR of the show.

I realize that this might be a slightly complicated thought process, but it has held true for every single incarnation of Star Trek so far.

The Lead Actor, is Always the "Epicenter" of the show.
