I love pineapple.

Just not on pizza.

Yeah, that's me too.

Now, bacon wrapped pineapple bites?

wierd little bit of fast food history: before the Fillet o Fish was invented by a franchise owner trying to find something to sell on Fridays in a heavily Catholic town, McDonald's corporation was developing the Hula Burger which would have been a fried pineapple between two buns

I remember that story! The CEO didn't think much of the fish burger idea, if I remember right. So finally, they had it and the pineapple sandwich go head to head at a franchise in a heavily Catholic neighborhood, one Friday. Final score: Filet o' Fish 350, Pineapple sandwich 8. The CEO changed his tune, and the rest is history.

I do love grilled pineapple, though.
By itself, not in a bun swaddled in "cheese"

Like all things, it depends upon the specifics.

Some of the best pizzas I've had have had pineapple on them. That was because of the specific crust, sauce, and cheese, with the specific sausage, the pepperoni, their cuts, the selection and cut of pineapple, the overall arrangement, etc.

Inartistically and tastelessly made pizzas with pineapple from other restaurants have also blown.

Because of the former, I vote Yay! (To vote otherwise would be to akin to denying that it's possible for e.g. a pepperoni pizza to totally suck.) :techman:

I remember the first time I had a burger with an egg on it.

I don't remember pineapples on burgers though, but maybe I blocked it out...

I think once in a while Hardee's/Carls Jr. in the US does a "Hawaiian" burger that has grilled pineapple, ham and teriyaki sauce on the beef patty. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I've never met one of their burgers I didn't like.

Yes. Yes to Hawaiian pizza. Resounding, unequivoval yes.

Unless it has chicken on it instead of ham and/bacon. Then it's just nonsense I will not countenance.

Yes to pineapple on burgers, too. Yes to grilled pineapple, added as a sweet element to a savory meal. I sing thy praises, delicious bacon wrapped pineapple bits!

Let's not forget the use of big chunks of pineapple in Americanized versions of sweet and sour pork.
I'm ambivalent about that.

I'm ambivalent about sweet and sour pork period. But at least with big chunks they're easy to separate from the meat.
