New Opening Credits (Possible Spoilers)

For me, the way, they handle it with the Opening credits, seems to be really cool. I always loved the changings of B5's Opening Credits, but this would have been a little bit 'to much' for a Trek series, so this subtle differences are perfect.

It might also represent the timeportal from the end of Season 2.

The changes per season are one of my favorite little things about Discovery. I hope Picard follows suit and its second-season opening credits end with a more optimistic titular character doing the "engage" symbol or something. Cool opportunity for unique demonstration of character growth.

I expect we’ll get a “down the rabbit hole” Alice metaphor out of it too. Notice that it’s oriented vertically instead of horizontally.

I'm 100% positive that those crystals in the opening are and have always been Time Crystals, not dilithium crystals.

Yeah, fooooooreshadowing! The color is exactly right for the things introduced at Boreth a season and a half after the creation of the opening credits. And now it suddenly no longer is.

(Also, the red flower trying to eat the hero ship was foreshadowing for PIC!)

The chair is odd; also, they didn't fix the number of Ready Room windows at the back of the command sphere. Those robots scare me. And why does Booker's spaceship get shown twice?

My first thoughts on the robot/s was also Eeeeeve from Wall E!!

Titles are neat although I was kind of hoping for more of an overhaul. I’d also been wishing for a different arrangement of the theme. I love the Discovery theme but feel it doesn’t need to be sandwiched between the traditional Trek fanfare at beginning and end. It doesn’t have enough time to develop.

Those crystals were also in the season 1 opening, and the time crystals were created for season 2, so no.

I think the crystals in season 1 were supposed to be dilithium. I dont think it was planned for discovery to head to the 32nd century that far in advance. Heck i'm not convinced that it was even conceived until berg and harberts got booted.

I don't, and I'm not the only one.

We first hear about Time Crystals in Season 1 before seeing them in Season 2, and and the way they look when we see them is too deliberately like the crystals we've seen in the credits up to that point to just be happenstance or a retcon.
