Spoilers Huge legacy character revealed as Prodigy lead!

Can you imagine if this ship gets sent to the Delta quadrant again somehow, that's the only scenario you can see Janeway being in this fulltime with a bunch of kids.

Hopefully this takes place during the same time period as Picard and I can't see why it couldn't; they can of course come up with any number of situations as to why she's involved with a group of kids on a derelict Starfleet ship.

Also, since it's Star Trek hopefully it'll be STEM-focused (but obviously fun too), and not an over-the-top, silly animated series. I wouldn't imagine them even doing the latter, but just the same.

The can just do a modern Star Trek: The Animated Series-"type" show. Obviously not that serious in tone, but a semi-serious CG animated kids series.

Fingers crossed, but I think it's going to be good.

In Kurtzman I trust.

Last year, my brother started showing my niece Star Trek. They started with TOS. Earlier this summer, my brother started showing her VOY. He said he wanted to show her VOY because it showed a woman in command and he wanted to show her what women can do.

So I told him today it was a good thing he showed her Voyager, because Janeway's going to be in Prodigy. I was the one who broke the news to him. So they're excited about that.

Before my brother started showing her TOS and VOY, he used to tell her "Captain Kirk stories" before she went to bed.

Well on the positive side we'll probably get a lot more consistently good characterization for Janeway on a modern children show than it was the case with Voyager.
Sidenote, it seems Mulgrew agrees on this:

Though what I really question is why on earth they are hiring hiring Mulgrew to do voice work of all things...

But that means we get her voice!

She has done a fair amount of voice acting:

She has a unique voice.

A new series set on DS9 will cause massive nerdgasms! What is Ira Behr doing these days?

I will say that I'm a little disheartened that DS9 seems to once again get the shaft even in modern Trek. Fellow longtime fans can recall times over the years when DS9 seemed to be forgotten or never mentioned in the same breath as the other shows.

BUT - it was so nice when Lower Decks went there, albeit briefly.

Captain Janeway, you stand accused for driving viewer ratings to hell and heading show that is considered the beginning of Star Trek´s decline.

Your sentence will be cooking in woman prison for a few years and then you will be banished to the second dimension to lead children squadron.

In other news, Captain Picard becomes the last male lead in Star Trek show and
he is robot now.

Are Trek fans on a constant quest for validation? Like, I read comments like this (and another DS9 one in another thread) as well as people wanting "nods to fans" in shows. And, I'm sitting there going, "Is there something I'm missing? Do fans need these constant nods to themselves for reasons I don't get?":wtf:

DS9 may have been the outsider but it's become the favorite show and considered top tier Trek in most fan circles I'm apart of. Perhaps its time to let go of the angst and let Trek go where it will?

Not at all. I just wish DS9 got thrown a few more bones. TOS, TNG, VOY, and ENT seem to get them the most.
