Spectre ending with Bond seemingly retiring was one of the few particularly good points of the film, a fine end to the whole version. This film feels really just too scared to start a new version.

Even though at this point I'm getting used to movies getting postponed over and over again and I do see that it's for the best, I won't deny I still find it a bit annoying. Oh well, it is for the best, and the truth is a movie being postponed repeatedly really is small potatoes amongst a global pandemic. Hopefully, things will be under control enough in April 2021 that this movie can finally be released.

Huh. And right after Billie Eilish released the music video for her theme song.

What kind of timing is that?

Not a surprise considering Black Widow has been pushed back to May, a year after it was originally suppose to be released.

I quite liked that song. Leaps and bounds better than the last song.

    Lots of new footage, too.

I probably would have paid at least 20 for it if they had done the Mulan thing with it. I've been wanting a Black Widow film ever since 2012. Also, seeing all these trailers for movies coming out, I am looking forward to the movie going experience again.

    Talk about your low bars.

Eilish's effort is at least not a mewling offense to the ears like Smith's travesty, but it's certainly no "Skyfall" or "You Know My Name."

Not me. If I'm spending that much money on a single viewing, it better be the full cinematic experience (which I spend HALF that for such experience). I can wait. It sucks it's that far away again but I can wait.

    Fair point.

True on all points, but I'm also judging it from one listen. "You Know My Name" took a long time to grow on me.

Well since I pay $6-7 for a before noon movie at the theatre .. 20-30$ is a definant no.
Now if I had a family it would be different. But I still prefer the theatre experience, especially since they installed comfy recliners.

It was getting so close to the release date I thought we'd get to see it this year. Damn it anyway. But understandable.

Unfortunate, but really what other options are there? IIRC, the only major release that hasn't been postponed until 2021 yet is Dune, and many suspect that announcement is imminent at any time.

And just yesterday, the official James Bond YouTube channel released a tie-in DHL commercial:

They were really holding out hope to keep the November release date, and the decision to delay wasn't made long before it was made public.

Dune is official now. October 1, 2021.

The only major film still scheduled for this year is Wonder Woman 1984, which is supposed to come out on Christmas Day. I'll be shocked if WB doesn't reschedule it soon, especially with the news about Regal.

I've always noticed Martin Campbell reusing this shot of Bond entering a casino for the first time in both CR and GE, thought it would be fun to put them in one video. If he ever comes back to introduce a new Bond, I wonder if he'll do this shot again.

It's interesting that he's going off the original release dates rather than the U.S. ones; Dr. No didn't open in the US until May of 1963, From Russia With Love opened a year later in May 1964 (though it's entirely possible United Artists arranged a special White House screening for JFK before his death), and Goldfinger opened in January 1965. It wasn't until Thunderball that the UK and US premieres of the films started to be closer together (usually within a few days of each other). So if you go by U.S. release dates and count the two unofficial films, LBJ and Reagan are tied with five for having the most Bond films come out during their administrations.
