Computer Voice

Super Grover

I may be mistaken, but I think I read something years ago about how before she passed; Paramount had gotten with Majel Barrett and had her make some Phonetic recordings so they would be able to use her voice for the ships computer for year to come. If so, I wonder why they haven't used it; Lower Decks is perfect for this Easter Egg/tribute. Maybe it's still too tricky at this point.

there was talk about it at one point but they went with Julianne Grossman for ship's voice on Discovery and Enterprise. I would not be surprised if she continues on SNW. It would be interesting if the voice of Zora comes into play on Discovery at some point.

No such thing was ever done. There was talk when online among fans when Disco was in development that CBS should comb through all the dialogue Majel Barrett contributed as the computer voice in all the various shows and splice talk together to use as computer responses to the characters, but that's all that was, fans dreaming up what they wanted. Clearly CBS felt it preferable to just cast a new voice actress for the computer voices we've heard in the various shows.

Although they do have Jennette Goldstein doing the Enterprise's computer voice in the Short Treks.
