Aside from Keenser, what other aliens from the Kelvin films would have any recognition factor?

Although next week's seems to be taking influence from the Kelvin films with the copious lens flares all over the place.

Based on the trailer for episode 9, it looks like the Kelvin-verse is getting its turn (on the holodeck) for episode 9. I'd count on the species appearing then/there (and probably not again until season 2 as it will be completely post VIA-CBS merger

The merger has nothing to do with anything. The TV shows can use anything they want from the movies, as already proven on Disco where we see taken from the Kelvin films the bridge windshields, Vulcan classrooms and gray Starfleet dress uniforms.
