I can't wait, I really enjoyed Macra and from what little is written on the description it seems to be following the same format.

That seems to be what they're going for, starting with The Faceless Ones. The Evil of the Daleks is almost certainly next. Doesn't sound like they're going to bother with animating the historicals, however. Skipping them means they can put Seasons 1,2 and 4 on Blu-Ray any time they want once Evil is done. They did say they weren't saving Hartnell and Troughton for last as far as the box sets went.

I have spotted in my local Walmart "Doctor Who: the animated collection", with over seven hours of content including the David Tennant animated episodes Dreamland and the Infinite Quest, The Power of the Daleks, Scream of the Shalka (I had to look that one up), and Shada for $15.

Yeah, that one's been out for awhile. Seem like a mad assortment of animations because it didn't include all of the flash animations (no Death Comes to Time or Real Time) but also had one of the animated reconstructions. Eh.

They said it would be too enormous to do, but... I dunno. I mean, they could split the serial to two halves and sell it that way? Maybe copy the method Target used for the novelization and stuff. I'd argue that'd be more than agreeable by fans.

I know this would have purists up in arms, and I can't say I would entirely blame them, but speaking just for myself, I would prefer a Readers digest style condensed version of the story than not have the story available at all.

A shame about the historicals, "The Crusade" being one of the best and only 2 episodes really need to be done.

You're right, that would never happen. For the same reason they aren't going to do animated reconstructions of any Pertwee through McCoy stories or any Hartnell or Troughton that don't have any material missing.

I've seen that in a few places. A bit annoying since I seem to recall paying $15-$20 each for some of those.

I just really wish that they would do "The Highlanders." I understand generally not being very keen on historicals but surely an exception could be made for Jamie's introduction story!

Apparently it's the complex tartans that would make animating The Highlanders more expensive. However, I'd be happy with simplifications in that area for the sake of getting it done!

Watching Fury, the cgi sets are terrific, but most characters have very unconvincing arms.

I got my copy of Fury from the deep today, only 15 serials to go. Technically only 14 and Mission to the Unknown but I would like it as its own DVD.

Bummer about the historicals, is there really no market for them? At this point I don't think they would sell fewer copies because lets face it, the only people buying animated reconstructions of 55 year old episodes are completists.
