News? Stories from Dubious Sources

I must complement you Ketwolski, especially for the Roby Rose rumor that made it as far as wegotthiscovered, I'd tip my hat to you if it existed.

I also think it was good you brought up this Nazi character, as it highlights a really serious problem in this generation of toxic fandom, the white-nationalist/ fascist element that pervades it. While there have always been "true fans" dismissing iterations of Star Trek and Star Wars for one reason or another, it has been apparent to me for some time that a lot it as of late seems racially and politically motivated, specifically geared to cater to male grievance and white grievance narratives. While you don't get deep into it, I commend you for at least showing others where this "people who yell the loudest in the room" rabbit hole leads to, and hopefully gets them to think twice about supporting these clowns.

Also, fwiw, I actually like the fact that CBS/Paramount don't seem phased in anyway by these jokers. Deliberately or not, they keep on trucking and don't acknowledge them in anyway, depriving them of any legitimacy.

This is contrast to you-know-who regarding you-know-what:

I used to listen to the Fandom Menace when it began as it had some valid criticism and was oftentimes hilarious in their reactions. However, as they gain viewers, they became more reactionary in their viewpoints. It reached the point where it stopped being entertaining. Their dislike of anything which they did not agree with had turned to hatred and they became as venomous as some of the writers I have read in the right wing blogosphere.

I would recommend avoiding Geeks and Gamers, World Class Bullshitters, ComicArtistPro Secrets, and Nerdrotic.

So a guy who used to provide dubious sourced news stories for The Cinema Spot has opened his own website and has a bunch of unconfirmed Star Trek rumours. I don’t mind this guy because at least he’s a fan of the new Star Trek and not a hater. Here is what he has posted:

CBS revives Ceti Alpha V series (to be produced by producers behind Viikings: Valhalla)

All of the production dates for new and upcoming series

Picard production possibly moving to Canada

New series or short trek in the works entitled Star Trek: 1992

Anthology Star Trek feature films, including Discovery, in development

To be fair, he did say a month or two ago that a Discovery feature film was being developed. This was actually confirmed by Chris Pine in an article recently.

Sounds like a certain user who touted his theories as rumors not too long ago particularly the 1992 one.

I would be 100% on board for an alternate history 1990's (as in, the Trek version of the 90's not ours) Eugenics Wars series.

I'm also 100% down with Long Treks.

Wait, has this guy just been taking ideas from my posts?

I think this is the best option. I think if they want to make Trek its own distinct history then such a series would be a good idea to create more of that history people want.

I also said that there was a Pike series in the works
https://thegww.com/exclusive-captain-pike-star-trek-discovery-spin-off-series-in-the-works/

I've also got a bunch of non-Star Trek stuff right.

Well, I see your point but you have to understand, from my perspective it isn't "rumors and speculation."

I have reliable sources who tell me things, and I publish those things. If you want to doubt me that's fine but telling me to stop with rumors and speculation is kinda impossible.

That's fair. I wasn't saying it's unreasonable for you to doubt people, by the way, I understand that.

Wow.

A Star Trek: Discovery film.

Suddenly I can't think of anything that I'd want more...

Hopefully it happens.

Ok I'll bite, what's this 1992 thing? Is it that time travel show about people going back in time to stop the rise of Khan? The one that was "supposedly" rolled into the Section 31 show?

I have no idea. As the article states, I do not know what it is about. All I know is that a Star Trek project is in the works titled "1992" and it is either a Short Trek, or a new show.

My personal guess is, it's the Short Treks episode which will be used to introduce Khan to New Trek before we see him again in his solo miniseries, Ceti Alpha V.

The story of the Star Trek 1992 series involves the US government hunting down superhumans (like Khan) and follows the events that lead to World War 3.

Yes, which is why it probably follows the events that lead up to it. My guess is, the superhumans are somehow involved with WW3. Or at least, more than we already knew through the other Star Trek shows.

I think it's also worth noting that The Eugenics Wars have been referred to as WW3 before, most notably in the Space Seed episode of TOS
