So, apparently, IGN had an exclusive DC Fandome panel I didn't know about (and it didn't stream on the DC Fandome site, because it was "exclusive") on the new animated "Superman: The Man of Tomorrow" film. And during that panel, they announced the slate of animated films for 2021. Here's the list:
- Batman: Soul of the Dragon (early 2021)
- Justice Society: World War II (Spring 2021)
- Batman: The Long Halloween, Part I (Summer 2021)
- Batman: The Long Halloween, Part II (Fall 2021)
Holy shit, a JSA animated film? I wish this had come out around 2012, back when the animated films were still consistently good, but they do manage a decent film every so often even now, so hopefully its good and not edgy crap like most of the post-Flashpoint movies.
I'm a lot less excited for Long Halloween since I learned that the original comic was written by Jeph Loeb, but the Dark Knight Returns animated adaptation is a thousand times better then frank Miller's comic, so maybe something good will happen. I wish there weren't three batman movies in 2021, though, but I guess I should feel lucky that we're only getting three movies, and not four.
