Let's collect all our observations, eastereggs, references and nods to previous Trek in a dedicated thread so they don't get lost in threads about the individual episodes or ship&tech threads. Makes it easier to collect them and find them later.

    Episode 1:
The shuttles are named after National Parks
    2 people wear Visors
We see an Andorian, a Benzite (with breathing thing), a Bolian
A turboshaft goes down the aft strut
    They have cetacean ops!
There's an old California flag in the ready room
Bar glasses look like those in 10 Forward
They have the old phasers and tricorders
A Vulcan has black slime on his face that looks like Spock's beard XD
She wants Boimler to be her cha'DIch, tells him about Spock returning from death, fighting Khan with the Genesis device and some space whales, Sulu rocking a sword, asks about Kirk, Worf, Gary Mitchell, Deanna!

    And in the season preview:
A space jellyfish that could be related to Farpoint
Klingon disruptors from all eras and timelines are for sale at some desert basar
They might have to fly through the neutral zone into Romulan space

    Episode 2:
nuqneH is a proper greeting (What do you want?)
The ship has a huge warp core
    Mariner dreams about Khan
    Evora in Little Kronos!
Ensigns now know about 31 too -.- (Was Sloan's death the end of the organization as we knew it?)
There is blue and purple qagh as well
The central spire is similar to farpoint and the milennium gate
    They mention a Janeway protocol
    There's a Risan Horgahn statue
    A Vendorian from TAS appears!
The Andorians have the ritual blade weapons from ENT
The Klingon song was identified as: ghIq nachDu'chaj DIteq 'ej nach Homvo' matlhutlh
(We tear off their heads and drink from the skulls.)
    http://klingon.wiki/En/StarTrekLowerDecks

    Episode 3:
Doors don't have numbers or level indicators
Boimler hums the TNG theme XD
References to baryon sweeps, Mugato, Armus, Omicron spores
The shuttle seems to emerge from the front
    BOBW fight music!!
First contact now means they've signed into the Federation?
Phasers can clean walls and ships now - is that setting 0? XD
The plaque's logo is 100 years old
Borg are gonna go to school with us in the far future
Boimler's statue has a great bird of the galaxy :D
O'Brien is the most important person in history

Thanks for adding the spoiler tag that I forgot!

Others have posted their observations in other threads (Mike?), just copy them here - and then we can update this thread every week.:luvlove::D

That's a good start! I just scrubbed “Second Contact” for all the stuff that I can find and listed it in the order I found it. Maybe others can add to that?

    • Douglas station is the same type of space station as Earth spacedock; the shots themselves are callbacks to its various appearances in Star Trek.
    • Ensign Barnes is a Trill.
    • In Boimler’s captain’s log scene, the containers in the background feature the Starfleet Medical logo we’ve seen throughout the various shows and movies. It can also be seen on the sickbay doors.
    • Also in that scene are transporter pattern enhancers and what looks like the Nomad probe from The Original Series episode “The Changeling”.
    • Mariner is drinking Romulan whisky, a reference to Romulan ale. The Romulan font on the bottle is the same used before in the franchise. Can anyone read what it says?
    • Among other things, Mariner has a Bat'leth, a bottle of Saurian brandy and a Ligonian glavin in her crate of contraband. Do people recognize more of what's in there?
    • Mariner got the Bat’leth from “an old guy with an eyepatch”; possibly an allusion to General Chang from Star Trek VI. Or to the Klingon K'orin from “Envoys”.
    • Mariner yells “Worf, Worf, Worf” and references his obsession with honor.
    • The title sequence features the Next Generation title font. Also, Borg cubes and Romulan warbirds.
    • Tendi's given name of D’vana is likely inspired by the name Devna, another Orion woman from the Animated Series episode “The Time Trap”.
    • “Banana, hot” is a reference to “Earl Grey, hot” – how else would you want your tea?
    • Isolinear chips, tricorders, phasers and hyposprays are styled like their Next Generation counterparts. Many of the tools the crew is using look like what was used on the live action shows.
    • Boimler mentions sonic showers.
    • The holodeck has the same yellow-black grid look as in The Next Generation. The arch and door are also very similar. Also, the sound effects.
    • The Adashake center on Orion that Tendi is recreating on the holodeck has architecture inspired by set design from “The Cage”.
    • Transporter pattern enhancers down on the planet. Also the Argo vehicle from Nemesis.
    • Observation: Where have we seen that subspace comm array design before?
    • The scene where Boimler visits the bridge looks similar to the scene where Picard first visits the Enterprise’s bridge in “Encounter at Farpoint”.
    • Mistake: a female science officer is mirrored in one of the shots on the bridge, with her commbadge on the wrong side.
    • The glassware and uniforms of the waiters in the bar are a nod to The Next Generation’s Ten Forward set.
    • Barnes references the franchise catchphrase “the final frontier”.
    • Observation: They are not using force fields to restrain patients in sickbay, but old-style belts.
    • Observation: Haven't we seen those particular shovel and hoe designs before in Star Trek?
    • Mariner says she’s been in a Klingon prison fighting a yeti for her own shoes. Another reference to Star Trek VI.
    • Rutherford and Barnes taking a walk on the outside of the ship is a reference to Star Trek – First Contact.
    • “Doc will wave a light over it” – a reference to Star Trek doctors mostly just waving little lamps over wounds.
    • Several Vulcans, a (Half-)Klingon, possibly an Aenar woman in sickbay (although it could also just be an Andorian that’s infected by the rage virus, making her skin look white) can be seen in the background.
    • Pumping the antidote through the air ducts is a tried and true method from all Trek shows (although, did they ever do that on The Original Series?)
    • The shelf in Captain Freeman’s ready room includes various objects and references to earlier Trek captains, such as a ship model similar but not identical to the Cerritos, a military hat like Pike had in his quarters in “The Cage”, a 18th century sailing ship (the Enterprize?), a gold plaque featuring what looks like the commbadge design from the late Next Generation era, a fossil (Picard), a sword (Sulu?), a baseball (like the one on Sisko’s desk), a sextant and several bottles of liquor.
    • Observation: I haven’t spotted even one “47” anywhere. Im sorry, but this isn’t real Trek.

I'd be surprised if Freeman was a baseball fan, but maybe the baseball was a gift from Sisko to (Commander?) Freeman in the Dominion War, and she displays it as a trophy to tell others "Yeah, I knew Sisko". She seems vain enough that these might all be souvenirs from famous Captains she's worked with or met over her career. That might actually be Sulu's sword (which might explain how Mariner knew Sulu was a "sword guy").

Voyager also used belts in their sickbay.

    Episode 2
There is a Kaelon on the planet, the Kaelons were introduced in the TNG episode "Half a Life."

    Episode 3
The silly concept of boarding a space ship with swords and spears are possibly a dig at Klingons fighting with Bat'leths and other blade weapons.

The mention of an unpopular Delta shift might be a nod to TNG "Chain of Command." The Ent-D has a standard three-shift rotation before Jellico introduces the fourth Delta shift much to the chagrin of Riker and the department heads.

"I honestly can't remember which deck sickbay is on!"
    - "Uh, 26?"
    - "Do we have that many?"
Picard mentions the Ent-E has 24 decks, but the ship is stated to have a deck 26 (ST: "First Contact"). ST: "Nemesis" reveals at least 29 decks.

Beware of the almighty double-fist punch!

    Physically superior foe? No problem.

Probably just signed into the list of species the Federation has solid diplomatic relations with or list of possible future candidates which may join some day. Those guys have trial by combat and the death penalty, things that wouldn't be tolerated.

    Or xBs.

Um, what? How many planets did the Federation have with trial by combat? Vulcan, as Nerys Myk notes, Andor, as well as the Ligarans and Klingons.

I'm going to, without any evidence, assume that Gelrak V is a Federation protectorate, a la the Evora in Insurrection. That they are new to the interstellar community. This is why they weren't too miffed at them holding their away team hostage or boarding their ship. It's almost a Prime Directive thing. The Gelrakians are still adapting to cultures that don't worship crystals and chuck spears at each other, and the Federation is being understanding of that.

Should just pass them off to the Klingons, they'd get along great.

Forgot about the Vulcans, TOS has some odd (retconned) stuff, but that version of TBC is even brought up in VOY. Hard to believe that they practice such nonsense even in the 24th century.
The Andorian thing is only shown in ENT if I'm right, so before the Federation is founded, Klingons are not a UFP member (yet).
You mean Legarans? Not a member either.

We don't really interact with any Andorians in the 24th Century, so it's hard to say anything about them.
I think he's referring to the Ligonians from "Code of Honor".

The Andorians and the Vulcans are probably grandfathered in, since they founded the Federation and got to actually make the rules.

The Klingons were described as Federation members in early TNG, which of course was retconned, but must've been some odd reference to their close alliance.

The Ligonians is probably who fireproof was referring to, a species who had a "contract with the Federation" but one of the few examples of a traditional trial by combat.

I would presume they abandoned that practice, fighting to the death for personal vengenace is kinda barbaric

    Clearly not a member.

Perhaps, it would still set a dangerous precedent though.

Because the emblems are shown together in "Heart of Glory?" Yes, probably just to showcase the alliance.

Rather presumptuous on this point. Shras describes his people as a "violent race" in TOS, indicating that they had not been forced to renounce their more violent ways to participate in the Federation.

Why? The whole point of the UFP is that disparate groups and members can come together and work together for the common good and use mutual cooperation in spite of differences. Even in TNG abandoning trials by combat or death penalties are not exclusionary factors for interaction with the Federation and the Enterprise crew work within the cultural norms not excluding them from participation.

And thank you all for correcting me regarding Ligonians from Code of Honor. Yes, that was the race I was thinking of.

Regardless, I disagree with the categorical dismissal of "it wouldn't be tolerated" which seems rather against the principles of the Federation.

I'm betting they didn't. As @fireproof78 points out, they are described as a violent race in 2267.

I came on here to mention the number of decks Jellicos shifts and mostly Kirks weird punch style
Well done you are my hero.

Also the whole idea of buffer time comes from Scottys advice to Geordi in Relics and Marriner has her sleeves up O'Brien style for the whole episode
