Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

You'll get an edit button after a certain amount of posts (or is it time?)

Liking a post isn't confirmation.
... Yes, obviously he liked it because he thought the picture looked cool.

It confirms that he's directing Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, which was denied by officials. If he isn't directing Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, why is he liking a tweet about a random Hulu show that isn't out yet from a site he's never heard of?

Oops, quoted the wrong tweet. Man I suck at this stuff.

Thanks for the explanation by the way.

Not sure how I can edit my posts here but my point is: give me a chance. Don't believe officials when it comes to stuff like this. Most of them don't know and the rest have exactly zero reasons to tell us the truth.
I don't believe anyone when it comes to stuff like this.

That's fair. If you don't believe in scoops and stuff that's fine.

I do want to mention though: another scoop of mine JUST got confirmed. I said Hulu's Love, Victor series is renewed. Hulu just confirmed it.
That means...what, exactly? I don't know you, don't know who you are or that it was your scoop. Sorry, there is too much nonsense out there to satisfy my skepticism when people go "Hey, I totally reported that!"

It's nothing personal. I just don't believe it.

I mean, I literally included a link to where I stated it was renewed.

So, the claim to fame surrounding "a scoop" with "a lot of new details" about THGTG is that the production contacted the site to let them know that you got it wrong?

Again, why would he like that tweet?

Seriously?

Okay, at least that gives us a better context for what you consider to be evidence and reasonable inference. Not good, and certainly not sound journalistic practice.

Declaring that when events contradict what you think you've learned - ie, "Picard's staying in L.A. despite my thinking that they planned to move to Canada so obviously they've changed their mind" - doesn't work, either. You were just wrong.

So...I have questions about the finale. So the synths on The planet can die if shot or stabbed? Why haven’t they made back up copies of their memories with their tech in order to resurrect them? We see Dr Soongh messing with Saga’s memories, but not doing much else but cataloging it as a gift to her sister. Why didn’t they upload it to the new synth body that was made?

Are they still able to make more synths now that what was left of Data’s positronic net has been.. removed? I was unclear if they needed that to make more or if it was destroyed (we merely see it being unplugged). Won’t they just get eventually wiped out, if not by the romulans, then anyone else willing to attack them, federation protection be damned? What’s to stop the synths from rebuilding that transmitter to the Reapers but not reapers now that Soji and the La Sirena crew have left?

Another plot hole to add to the pile

Trekmovie has mentioned a meteverse Star Trek panel for Picard with Evan evagora and Isa Briones and Michelle Hurd on August 14 . I hope the Convention host will let the actors answer the questions and not interrupt them constantly like the other guy from San Diego Comic con did.It was rude and not very nice to treat the cast like that.

Congrats to Picard for its Dragon Awards nomination as best series.

I also hope the host has actually seen enough of the show to ask meaningful questions - the San Diego host seemed to be basing all his questions off the pre-show publicity!
