Only Mosaic deals with Janeway's life story. Pathways covers the rest of the crew, with the overlap mainly in the Tuvok section, of course.
Una answered this briefly on Facebook. She said, "That’s complicated, but we’ve taken it into account!" And Kate Mulgrew has Tweeted, "It is by @unamccormack about whom I have heard only good things. I'm pleased to have Janeway's story told by a woman who knows the character well. #WomenSupportingWomen "
Isn't 'Star Trek Voyager: To Lose the Earth' scheduled to be released in late October this year? I realize it was delayed a few times before, but hopefully we'll get more of Voyager relaunch novels.
It’s been delayed by a couple of years. I wouldn’t take this as a sign that there will be further relaunch novels.
Beyer has said that To Lose the Earth is the final novel in the relaunch sequence that began with Full Circle, and her answer as to whether she’d ever write a Trek novel again was basically “never say never but for now I’m focusing on my work on the TV series.”
I have many friends and colleagues who have worked on the writing staff of TV shows, and it's a 36-hour-a-day, nine-day-a-week job. I doubt Kirsten has time to see her husband and child regularly, much less to write a novel......
We must be due new announcements soon, surely. There is nothing scheduled for after the last Voyager novel and Greg Cox’s movie era novel?
I would think there would be an announcement pretty soon as they’re going to have to solicit orders from retailers if there’s stuff coming out in the early part of 2021.
Movie-era novel? My next novel, A CONTEST OF PRINCIPLES, is set during the original five-year mission. Just to clear up any confusion.
I hope this isn't off topic, but I thought I would mention that I've seen copies of More Beautiful Than Death at a local bookstore. Which is very exciting, to see that it physically exists in the real world where a reader can hold it in their hand, purchase it, and take it home. No take backs for this one, now! So now it will join Alan Dean Foster's Kelvin-verse novel, no tidying up this particular Pantera's Box. We'll need a review thread for it soon.
