Spoilers Scene from first episode

They've already planned the second, so might be more than a shart.

I don't see why box in the demographic
There isn't some youtuber out there who said that spin-offs are a proof that the shows are a failure..? (he used this theory to demonstrate that the production of Star Trek Strange New World means DIS is a flop or something similar)

The clip was funny -- liked seeing 24th century ships and starbases again! I watched it with my 10 year old daughter, who laughed and said "It's like Star Trek done as Family Guy!" (she doesn't know about the Orville... ). Anyway, it'll be a fun series to watch with her, if nothing else.

It could be fun. It's not what I want Star Trek to ONLY be, but one of a group of Star Trek series being an animated comedy is a nice change of pace.

I echo this entirely. I’m glad that this isn’t our only Trek, but I’m excited to see Trek go in new directions.

Looks bad.

However it is just a clip. I'll reserve judgement until I see it. But this doesn't inspire confidence.

I thought the clip was the most entertaining thing I’ve seen from CBS Trek since the Mudd Short Trek. :p

That says a lot.

I liked Calypso.

As long as Alex and Akiva are running the show I'm not expecting much.

If the Norwegians can do a comedy about 8th century Vikings, I’m pretty sure we’ll survive a light-hearted Star Trek cartoon.

We did it once.

What does that mean? Doesn't fit what? The character? My understanding is the writers are writing for the actress, using a lot of who she is to inform the character.

Just doesn't fit, I didn't realise it was her talking at first. Maybe it was just those opening few lines but it sounded like the guy was talking.

We Norwegians are renowned for our sense of humor.

:shifty:

They have very distinctive voices. Not sure how they could be confused.

Cause CBS has a bottomless pit of money that it uses to invest in shows that are failures
