I'm watching the IDW panel for Comic-Con@Home right now, and the Editor-in-Chief John Barber just said that after the DS9 miniseries is done, they will be doing a Voyager series that focuses on Seven of Nine. That was all he said, but since we've only had 1 Voyager only comic in the entire time IDW has had the license, this is pretty exciting.

Love it. The more works published in the DS9/VOY/ENT universes - novels, comics, anything - the better!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an Ent. comic next. It's the only series that has aired, that has never gotten a comic.

Not entirely true; there was an Enterprise story in one of IDW's Waypoint anthology comics, although it focused mainly on Porthos.

Right, I guess I should have said a series, not just a comic. I have to bad habit of saying comic, singular, when I actually mean a series.

Will this be set during the original TV-run of Voyager, or will it be set afterwards? Would love to see some Seven-tales taking place during her time with the Fenris Rangers.

What I posted is literally all he said. Since there hasn't been an official announcement, he wouldn't say any more. It was pretty causal, basically he just said that they are doing the DS9 miniseries right now, and after that they are doing a Voyager one with Seven of Nine.

I think the person that wrote that misunderstood what he was saying, the only DS9 comic they talked about was Too Long a Sacrifice. I think he might have said something about it coming up soon, but that was probably just because the panel was recorded before the first issue came out.

I haven't read any of the post-series Voyager novels: did they cover the end of the Chakotay/Seven romance there?

Yes. If you ship J/C, then you will probably like what Kirsten Beyer did in her books.

If the comic were centered on Seven with the Fenris Rangers, that would almost certainly be branded Picard, not Voyager, since it would tie into that and not into Voyager.

Well actually in the first VOY "relaunch" novel, Homecoming by Christie Golden, is where the C/7 relationship does get dealt with, ie what happens moving forward, when the crew first re-experiences Earth.

It will depend on sales of the current mini-series. IIRC, IDW was disappointed with the sales of the first DS9 mini, "Fool's Gold", which is why we waited so long for "Too Long a Sacrfiice".

So based on the reference to Seven's "newfound humanity" and the fact she's wearing the silver outfit in the cover image, I gather this is supposed to be set in the fourth season?

I think there's something going on with Bakula's likeness rights, as in he rarely approves comics with his image (be it Quantum Leap or Enterprise), and it's hard to do an Enterprise comic without Archer.

That could explain why he only showed up for a couple panels in the Waypoint Porthos story.
I was kind of hoping the Seven comic was going to be written by the Tiptons. I've liked their TOS, TNG, and DS9 stuff, so I was curious to see how they'd handle Voyager. Other than that it sounds good.

It's his hair. Bakula is sensitive about his hair line and where it is.
