Roddenberry Vault Deleted Scenes

I'd love to see a list of them. I haven't bought the DVD yet, partly because some of my favourite episodes were not included. That said, I'd probably buy a Dvd of just deleted scenes.

But that just means that there is even more out there!

Sure, but the Okudas went through everything. Sometimes cut scenes are cut because of lack of time and sometimes they are cut because they are just not terribly interesting. The Okudas chose the cuts that were the most exciting finds.

I'd love to see a list of them.

Follow each episode link and the Memory Alpha pages document every cut scene.

Thanks! Definitely something to consider for my Xmas list. I just wish more of my favourite episodes were included.

Did we not get everything? My understanding was we have everything the Okudas found?

And a frequent complaint of the 3-disc release was that there was too little vault content and too much padding... Amazon's reviews were aplenty but for what was released, nobody's denying those bits were often fantastic to see... but the complaints do seem valid... but for the official release:

In a pre-release interview, Lay has stated that fans would not want for anything, elaborating, "That's the commitment CBS, the Roddenberry team, and everyone involved has to this project – so that the fans buying the Blu-ray set will feel that they got everything there is to see. Because that's something that comes up a lot at these convention panels: are we using everything? The answer is 'Yes.'" [2] Considering that Lay himself has concurrently conceded in the same interview that not everything was used, that statement appeared to have been a commercial "exaggeration", especially since none of the featured episodes come from the third season. Furthermore, Rod Roddenberry has stated in an announcement video, posted on YouTube on 10 November 2016, that the archive consisted of over 1000 cans of outtake reels, or, put in other words, thirteen reels per episode on average. Nevertheless, this release finally afforded the fans the behind-the-scenes footage which was hitherto only reserved for a privileged precious few.

Why dya think season three has little footage?
There certainly isn't as much deleted material from the third season.

As @BillJ said, a lot of the dailies and workprint film was cut into individual frames at Lincoln and sold to the fans. For whatever reason, a lot of the third season film ended up under the knife... er, scissors.

As a side rumination, I had wondered for years why there were almost no frames available for some deleted scenes, e.g, the Peter Kirk scene from Op--An and the McCoy getting phasered scene in Space Seed. The Roddenberry Vault Blu-ray set was very illuminating and explained the reason for this observation. That is, their film source was the same as that used by Lincoln and, thus, not all of the dailies and workprint film had been cut up (or discarded). It was interesting for me to note that I have frames from deleted scenes that are not on the Roddenberry Vault set and they have rolls from deleted scenes that I've never seen frames from.

Of course, there are the "missing" rolls, i.e, rolls of film that Roddenberry gave to fan clubs (with the intent of being cut up) and those that found their way out of Lincoln. I have examples of the former and have seen examples of the latter. I'm always on the hunt for these rolls because, potentially, they may show material from the great undiscovered country! Some certainly do...

Look this sort of makes me angry. Lincoln Enterprises cutting stuff up but then I remind myself that at the time Star Trek was dead and over.
