Hey, thanks! :techman:

Wasn't as good as the version in my mind, but I LOLed a couple of times, and all the Superman-related stuff was pretty great. Still a terrific concept, but the execution wasn't quite worthy of the premise.

So Bruce Wayne is going to give a cousin he thinks is dead money because?????

Because of no reason at all. It would not happen unless someone--for example--stipulated some in-law and/or extended relative to be an heir or named, recognized beneficiary.

"A sum of 20 million dollars shall be divided equally between my first cousins, second cousins, and third cousins."

They write it like that becuase then a 20 year old will that hasn't been updated recently covers all the new cousin babies that clawed their way out of their mommas. It's also a nice provision for the unclaimed bastards to get a piece of the action.

Also either from the marriage, or if Jacob bothered to adopt Mary, that would make her eligible for Wayne money or a Batsuit, with out her name being specifically put in the will.

Family get's to play with his WONDERFUL TOYS!

Still not sure why a Kane would get Wayne money.

Still not sure why a Kane would get Wayne money.

They wouldn't unless Thomas had no surviving family, and then they would have a claim only if they'd been specifically given one through legal documentation.

Guy thinks that the Kane family has an automatic claim on the Wayne Family fortune simply because of Martha's marriage to Thomas, but that's not how inheritance works.

Billions, possibly trillions once you start including assets and land... There's enough to go around to the extended family because it's the civil thing to do.

These cousins are not strangers, everytime Kate mentions Bruce it's like she's talking about her best friend. And seriously does it look like Kate can look after herself?

She's living off a trustfund or an allowance, either of which is not going to last forever.

Cousin Greg is in the will in Succession.

(Cousin) Morgan Stark inherited Stark industries a couple times.

(Cousin) Kara gets the fortress if Superman dies.

Greg is a Roy
Morgan is a Stark.
Kara is an El
Beth isn't a Wayne.

So woman are shit?

Poor Martha thought she was contributing to a dynasty, but they forgot about her after she shat a baby out for Thomas.

Sad.

I'm now more interested in Mary as Batwoman, now that I remember that she is a thing.

Seriously though I never got to see Rachel in a Black Canary outfit and now I'm not going to see her as Batwoman.

This woman vexes me!

What???
Martha is a Wayne (by marriage) Her brother's kids. No so much.

Kara Zor-el is also a woman.

So, once again. What?????

Jor-El's brother's kid gets an inheritance (a rocket to Earth) but what about Lana's nephews and nieces?

Howard's brother's kid gets an inheritance but what about Maria's nephews and nieces?

See.

They don't, at least not from the Els or the Starks.

Still not sure why a Kane would get Wayne money.

Why not? As long as it's in Thomas's or Martha's will that they get a share of the inheritance, then they will. What you're talking about seems to be the rules of inheritance in the absence of a will, but why assume there isn't one?

Guy seems to think it's automatic for inlaws.

Its a will.

Thomas wrote a will for himself, and Martha wrote a will for herself. Even if Thomas did not provide for the Kanes, Martha, who had half the Wayne money to draw upon, would have. Besides that money was paid out 30 + years ago, but it might be where the Trust fund that Kate is living off came from.

Bruce also wrote a will and he chooses who is in it. His beloved cousins, his only family to speak of, are certainly in there other wise he's just giving everything to an Orphanage that he narrowly avoided being billeted in, to make a Batman Engine.

This all started because in Pennyworth, Thomas has a sister called Patricia, and I got a little confused about who was who on reflection.

Sorry.

Did they?

I think that's an erroneous reading of his posts. I don't see any point where he says it's automatic. He's specifically positing the scenario of a will. I can see how you could perceive his phrasing as an assumption of fact, but as I read it, he's just saying it's logical that they would have done it that way. And I think he's right about that. You can leave money to anyone in a will, and why wouldn't Thomas leave something to Martha's family? Do you assume he hated them or something?

Did they?
What are the odds of them dying at the same time, that they would need a joint will?

Minuscule.

A family Trust on the other hand is a great way to avoid taxes

Or are we woman hating again by stipulating that Women don't get wills?

Phillip was probably willed Martha.

The super rich are quite odd.
