News Stay At Home With ULTRAMAN| Ultra Science Fiction Hour on YouTube

I'm a week late but I still caught episode 3. They keep them up for two weeks. There's really no reason someone can't find time to watch them while they're still up

Watching episode 3 AKA "Why is Gomora?"

Gotta love the subtle humor of this series. I loved when Ultraman Z was trying to communicate with expressions.

There was also that joke with the building ball dropping that was like a bell signaling the next round LOL

"Lord Zed"

Oh I wish that was a nod to Power Rangers

Ultraman R/B coming to blu-ray state side on October 13th

Premiering in about an hour, this week's throwback episode is, again, from the original "Ultraman", the tenth episode, featuring the monster Jiras, which used a modified Godzilla suit.

Other than the name "Jiras" "Go Jira" was there any other homage to Godzilla in the episode?
Well, as I said, the suit itself was a re-used, slightly modified Godzilla suit (and I do mean slightly, as in the collar and a splash of yellow color). The scream also starts off like the Godzilla roar before turning into more of a grunt. Jiras also fires a blue ray out of his mouth at one point, similar to Godzilla's atomic breath. And, of course, they are both fictional species of dinosaurs.

The mad scientist in this episode also has shades of the more obsessive and sinister version of Professor Yamane from the early drafts of the original Godzilla movie, although that probably wasn't a proper homage, as this wasn't known outside of the Japanese film industry at the time.

Episode 5 of Ultraman Z is now listed, will stream in about 13 hours:

I finished Geed recently I thought the series was ok, nothing that blew me away or anything I found too offensive either. I also finished Orb Origin saga and I can recommend it to anyone that likes Orb, as for the Orb movie I liked
That Dan makes a cameo and turns into Ultraseven and they even played the theme!
Next on my list to watch is X and the Return of Ultraman.

Today's throwback episode is "UltraSeven" episode #24:

So Youtube is going to be discontinuing community-submitted content like captions and subtitles after September 20th, 2020.

That screws up Tsubaraya since they were allowing for people to include captions to their Ultraman shows.
For a second I thought you meant they couldn't do optional subtitles anymore, but Tsuburaya usually adds those themselves (at least on those videos they want to). I don't remember a lot of fan-submitted captions in their videos, unless they're referring to the chats of the live-streams.

Episode 7 of "Ultraman Z" is listed and will stream in a few hours.

Seems like "Watch with Zero" will be another series of random, subtitled throwback episodes. This week, it's episode #11 of "Ultraman Ginga S".

Ginga S is interesting as it is very much the second season of "Ultraman Ginga", similar to how "Kamen Rider Black RX" was for "Kamen Rider Black". After Tsuburaya Productions was bought by a bigger company, they tried low-budget efforts first, and "Ultraman Ginga" was the first "Ultraman" show with that mentality, and thus had a very limited cast, a small town setting, and was mostly shot on location (aside from the Kaiju scenes, obviously). As it proved successful enough, and the toy company Bandai was dimsayed with the lack of toy-opportunities in that show, the new owners of Tsuburaya were willing spend more money on "Ultraman Ginga S", putting the now established character in a more traditional Ultra format with lots of vehicles, weapons and toy-etic characters. It has Ginga's human form, Hikaru, as part of an anti-Kaiju task force, and ads the underground civilization of the Victorians, the prince of whom turns into Ultraman Victory. The villain of the show was the Exceller, Alien Chibull (introduced all the way back in "UltraSeven"), who wants to steal the Victorium, a powerful element protected by the Victorians.

That was interesting to see Ultraman Z in human sized for. As "Z" said it was an "Ultra Emergency"
