Better is subjective.
And most of us don't need an "I think" in front to know when somebody's stating their opinion.Yes you did. You said "It's a great design." - not "I think it's a great design"
Who knows, maybe the impractical design is intended to be source of comedy? We could have characters complaining in the show about it. Maybe they were inspired by the Oberth on that front.
I'm sure there was. So far it feels like it fits in the larger universe..Yes it is. Though I like to feel that some thought is put into the creative process about how these things actually work. Now, the show being a comedy gives it some leeway, but it is also supposed to be part of the larger universe.

Are jokes about how Starfleet designers are so inept that you have to go through the nacelles to get to the other part of the ship really going to fly?
I've seen similar jokes in Trek. It will work for some and fall flat for others. Are jokes about how Starfleet designers are so inept that you have to go through the nacelles to get to the other part of the ship really going to fly?
Another ugly, badly-designed CBSTrek Federation starship. Who would have thought!![]()
Why can't Trek be better?
I am not either. Mostly because animated Star Trek strikes me as a terrible idea. The animation is not appealing to my sensibilities and the characters will probably not be for me.Sorry. I'm not inclined to feel particularly strongly about it. So all this nonsense about it is as amusing to me as the actual show itself will hopefully be.
And he was right, wasn't he?He's the one who told me my post was merely "my opinion" in the first place.
Well, if they get this worked up about the Nickelodeon show, the one that's actually intended for children, I'm not arguing with them about it... I'll have my niece take over for me. "Here's the keyboard! Have at it!"I am not either. Mostly because animated Star Trek strikes me as a terrible idea. But, as per Star Trek fandom rules, the more over the top hatred of it the more I am amused by it and interested in the project.
Maybe in the first episode they will need to make an emergency run through an asteroid field, taking everything off from the pylons down, forcing them to rethink the wisdom of such an unwieldy design.
