News Superman & Lois Ordered to Series at The CW

The fact that they are going to be a big, if not the biggest, part of the show was already said. They should be under 1 year old, and there should only be one of them. instead, its CW thinking that every fucking show needs to either be about teens/pre-teens or have characters for them, instead of focusing on the title character. Superman hasn't had a real live action TV show since the 50s (the shitty 90s romcom doesn't count, since Superman was barely a cameo in it, and Smallville was very much about Clark instead of Superman), at most there should be one kid that pretty much only exists to be put in danger or be an annoying distraction from the plot (basically taking the old Lois role from before she was allowed to be more then a damsel in distress).

I don't want to watch a show about Superman's shitty kids, but thats what they've made, because the CW is generally terrible and the people running the CW DC shows are incompetent hacks. I mean, Supergirl is the second worst CW DC show after Legends (although Fake Batwoman might take second place from Supergirl next season), so it makes sense that Superman would also be fucking terrible and miss the point of having a superman show (the point being we get to see Superman as the focus character doing superman/Clark Kent things).

The only Superman show that has ever been made in live action pre-this CW show is the Adventures of Superman. Superboy was about, well, superboy, Smallville was about Clark Kent, Lois & Clark was a romcom that focus on Lois and had maybe a couple of minutes per season of Superman screentime if you combined all the episodes. There have been Superman related shows, but he was only ever the main character, as Superman, in the 50s TV show.

100 percent of the time they change races it's pandering. There is no reason to do it other than so they can say that they did it and can get fake outraged when people call them out on their pandering.

At least you're paying attention, even if you don't get it and you're being sarcastic. But this is just blatant pandering. Lex Luthor is white. Race baiters want to change things to show how "enlightened" they are, even though it's the exact opposite. It's pathetic actually and quite racist because they are saying that a black actor can't create an original villain.

So they pander.

You're not reading my posts if you can say that. But why is race the sole thing writers focus on? If they would focus as hard on actual stories as they do pandering and pushing extreme left wing politics and their own racist views, things would be better.

Too mature, and it is clear that he will never understand the well-written social matters (and how it natrually ties--historically--to the plight of black Americans and their relationship to government) that serve as the backbone of Black Lightning, which handles it head and shoulders above Luke Cage.

Regardless your opinion on the subject lacks any sense of objective credibility and using your opinion on Black Lightning to pre-judge your opinion on Superman and Lois lacks any credibility as well.

^Every show gets its own writing staff. It would be too much work for one staff to do two shows at once. However, staffers on a new show in a franchise would likely be a mix of veterans from earlier shows and some new blood.
 
I'm not sure if I'll watch this show, but this won't even be the first time Lex is black - see the DCAU.
 
I think I might catch the first couple of seasons just for fun and annoying bigots. And to see how they design their version of Metropolis. Including any maps.
 
Sorry to say.. But jon cryer was The Best Lex in any live action series.. Or movie..He kicked but and saved a mediocher supergirl season..
And was looking quite forward to him hamming it up more in supermale ..... But alas.. My dreams and hopes are crushed by the diversity checklist..
New guy could Easily be another villan.. Even oh an original black villian that could be inserted in to the comics like Harley Quinn was.. But hey.. Why be original.. When you can be un original.. Blah..

Oh, don't be ridiculous. Since this (strictly rumored at this point) Lex is an alternate version anyway, he could coexist alongside Cryer's Lex rather than replacing him. And if it were feasible for the show to have Cryer as a regular, they probably would. Perhaps he was only willing to commit to a one-season regular gig and this new character was developed to replace him. At this point, it's way too early to presume anything.
 
Do we know that Cryer won't be back for the next season of Supergirl? Weren't they still in the middle of his storyline when they had to go on break due to the pandemic?
I'm thinking this could be a way for them to have their cake and eat it to. By introducing this Luthor, we can still have Cryer-Lex on Supergirl, but Superman and Lois can have a Lex too, without Cryer having to do double duty on two different shows.
