Wow, where can I buy one! Not sure what Id have it do but walking my property perimeter would be a nice bragging task
I've seen similar with a duck-beak like arm on top--like a neck: https://www.nextbigfuture.com/2019/...ll-sell-first-generation-universal-robot.html I had an odd dream where the torso of a cloned Aleister Crowley was atop a larger clockwork version of this thing, (CENTAUR-LIKE) with a lion and hyena head grafted on just behind....THE BEAST.
I don't know how I miss this one, it was posted the same day. This is humanity at it's best creating our conquerors.
There's another bot out there, can't remember who made it but it is large and has articulated legs with wheels mounted to them, the thing can accelerate like hell and jump over objects like a dinner table, rather scary fella, saw it on TV, I can't remember what it was called.
A guy who built a metal (aluminium) T-800 which is also having the correct mobility so it actually articulates like a human skeleton, 130+ kilograms, just needs some hydraulics, a chip and a nuclear reactor..
Looks like you can buy SPOT now for $74000. It might have some good uses. https://shop.bostondynamics.com/spot?cclcl=en_US&pid=aDl6g000000XdpZCAS
SpaceX may have a Spot working around the Boca Chica facility where the Starships are being assembled. There was even a "Doghouse" for it called Zeus spotted briefly
Nah, a Terminator is still looking like a human, in case of a T-888 they don't even look like a grumpy Austrian bodybuilder, so less conspicious than a yellow dog shaped robot with a minigun strapped to it's back..
An M60 weighs 10.5kg without ammo, so it could carry one of those, provided there was an allowance made for the mounting system. You could have a seperate spot with the arm assigned to reload and carry the ammo belts. But I really hope people wont use things like this in such a way. Its understandable why the conversation would go that route. But I am really interested in the productive uses people could find for them.
They would be great for inspecting pipes and the like from the inside to check on welded seams, they also could be used to inspect certain areas on ships, between the double hulls or inside the tanks of tankers, general security stuff inside buildings, kinda likea movable security camera or be helpful when you explore in a jungle, it could move a lot better through dense forest than a human, to name a few.
