Do you think this would've been a nice addition to "Yesterday's Enterprise"?

If, at the end, when the Ent-D was providing cover fire for the Ent-C as it was trying to go back into the rift, one of the Klingon Bird of Preys that was firing upon the Ent-D was shown being captained by Worf? Or at least the voice over the intercom telling Picard to surrender or be boarded was Worf's?

I'm surprised they didn't do this!

I don't think that is a very good idea.
The Star Trek universe is already ridicilous small and the Klingons don't make prisoners

I thought it was the intent, or perhaps just the rumored intent, that the Klingon VO at the end would be Michael Dorn. It does seem like a bit of a missed opportunity to me.

Didn't the officer send a surrender and be boarded message when confronting both Enterprises? (Mandala Effect prevailing, time for me to have a rewatch :D )

I agree that Trek did become succumb to Small Universe Syndrome (SUS) as it went on - even TNG was going to bring in Spock in season 2 (or was it the upright halo thing at the edge of the universe to have yet another time travel romp).

But this is one of the few times where having Worf showing up unexpectedly would have been a genuinely nice twist. Especially given season 3's storytelling style, it would not feel like SUS or leaning on TOS stories as a crutch to suss out... Worf growling and Dorn (okay, presumably) acting with much relish to villainously obliterate the Federation ships would have been a genuine hoot on top of everything else. (Dorn brought a ton into Worf's character, right down to disagreeing with the mandate Worf should have short hair. The Klingons would get worn out, but Dorn brought in a lot to Klingon lore from day one that was worthy to be combed fleshed out longer. That's what the best actor can do, embrace and extend a character. There's much to like, even in some of the less-successful episodes as standalone set pieces.)

Showing an evil Worf was a missed opportunity. And could easily have been better than the Yar/Castille shipping, which is easily the most cringeworthy part of the episode and would have flopped had season 3's style not been a part of it.

A topic also posted by you, I see ;)

And to answer the question: No. That would have been too much small-universe syndrome.

Maybe one additional scene where Worf beams onto the bridge and then Picard leap punches him like he did that guy in the High Ground.

Put that entire scene during his motivational speech.

"Lets make sure history never forgets the name.."
    *punch*
    "Enterprise."

Given Stewart's attempt at Shatnerism, only via temporal deviance rather than vocal (really, Steward puts in so many theatrical delays he's as iconic as Shatner for lending an engaging style...)

As I recall from one of the Blu-Ray commentaries the producers did think about it and it was written in in early drafts, but in the end they decided it didn’t do justice to Worf or Dorn and just leaving Worf in the Prime universe worked fine. Also we never saw Troi in the episode either.

I’m glad they didn’t, it’d come off as a massive coincidence and only for fanwank.

We did see her. She's sitting on the bridge in the normal timeline.

Nope. Yesterday's Enterprise is perfect. I don't think I would change anything.

Agree. I hate how every member of of the main crew just happened to be all together and centre of the universe in the mirror episodes especially that one were Ezri shows up and don't get me started on mirror Dis

Otherwise she’s like Worf in the episode. And I don’t think she has any lines in the Prime timeline.

Yup and Guinan explicitly asks whether she is present after the timeline is restored.

Makes you wonder though where she was in the altered timeline? Was she still on the Enterprise, but she just didn't have a chair on the bridge? Or did Starfleet just didn't employ counselors at all (very unwise in a situation of ongoing war) or was it just that Troi wasn't the Enterprise's counselor in the altered timeline?

Agreed. With all the killing to get ahead i really doubt some of those characters would even exist let alone be serving together in basically the same positions.

Isn't that kind of an issue with any alternate timeline episode?

Ya but you can get away with it in TOS by saying it's a slightly different timeline but the direction DS9 took it in there's no way

Depends when the point of divergence was. The further away you get, the less likely it is that the same group of people would be serving together, or even born in the first place!

The Khitomer Massacar was in 2346

The battle of Narendra III was in 2344.

Worf died as a child probably, if the Federation was not willing to be helpful, after two years of hissing and pissing.
