Wow, that is gorgeous! How big is the final model?
Thanks. She is some 7" long, 6 3/4" wide, and 7 1/4" tall (roughly)Wow, that is gorgeous! How big is the final model?
Aye. She is my favorite romulan vessel that I've designed.Cool, nice to see that design in the flesh.![]()
Yeah, probably because from the front view, the ship looks like a helmet or mask.I can also see the halo section on the face of an actress
lol. Thanks. Here comes the bad year blimp, yeah I can see that fly around intimidating people.. Really love the way how you integrated the saucer shaped bit into the rest of the hull.![]()
So I got a 3D printed version of my Praetor's Glory the other day in the mail, and I just thought I'd share her to you guys all dressed up
Absolutely stunning! No wonder she's your favourite. Did you do the painting? She is my favorite romulan vessel that I've designed.

YEAH!!! ThanksCool design! Reminds me a lot of this one: http://www.yann-souetre.com/3d2/slides/Spaceship-02-Odysseus-Renaissance.jpg
Also there's a bit of D'Deridex in here which is nice.
Thanks! I try to think of the bird motif when designing these older styled Romulan ships. Thanks for noticingI love the detail how the bird is holding their left wing to their chest!
YEAH!!! ThanksI have always loved the Ulysses 31 Starship... My hands down absolute favorite Animated vessel. I feel honoured to have my ship compared to it
Thanks!
Thanks! I too love the Comet, but as for innovation and iconic design, the Odysseus takes the cake.It is a really nice design, those nacelles in the middle give it something extra.
As for Odysseus, I always liked that design, very different and inventive but Captain Future's "Comet" design from the '70's anime is a very strong contender.
Thanks. With this design, I wanted to keep the general shape of the original, but had to make decisions to show some lineage to the Warbirds that preceded her. That's why her "head" section is a hybridization of the actual ship and the Valdore. I also kept the general layout, but flipped the wings so that the front of the wings were now the back...that allowed me to pop on some actual nacelles at the rear (now granted, I may have to do another more advanced version to this one, where the nacelles are integrated into the wings by means of the Borg technology being reversed engineered...I dunno). Lastly, I had to give the ship some much needed body. So I opted a flying wing approach with a lifting body. This gave the ship the bulk I felt she needed. That's MUCH better! The Picard Romulan ships just seemed so impractical with all that really thin wing - they were more like one or two person atmospheric craft. I liked the design of the head/beak of Oh's ship, and I thought it looked OK from the top, but your take on it actually says "Warbird" to me (rather than the runabout/shuttle-like ship that Oh commanded).
Thanks...I've got more underwayReally nice design, looks the part I would say.![]()
