The onscreen image is perhaps not the best view. Also, of course, the TAS ships are often not drawn consistently.I know you're not being literal to the drawings, so these are just a few observations about how your model differs. The nose hull of the original sketch appears to curve down a lot more and the neck appears longer and doesn't feature as strong an S curve along the bottom where it meets the hull. Also, the wings on the sketch wrap around the center shape more. The result, possibly intentional, is the 3D version looks less organic and planet like. The front "egg" might be a big kidney shaped as seen from above.
And, frankly, this is one of those designs which probably only has a few good angles, as it's just weird. I bet it's the Phylosian ship.![]()
When I first saw that render, my first thought was a space-faring Nessie!I look forward to the added detail. This looks like a flying elephant eating a fried egg.
There are inconsistencies, of course, between the line drawing and the onscreen drawing and it’s a challenge to reconcile the two. Mind you this isn’t a design focused on when seen onscreen. I am still not totally happy with the main centre section, but I also don’t feel like starting all over again, so I am going to try reshaping/replacing it without adversely affecting the other connecting parts.Well, it's sure alien looking. Or it belongs in a Dali painting.
Only observation: from the side elevation it looks like the fried egg nose was mean to look a lot droopier, which makes it look more organic than the more saucer-like version you've got going on.
OMG! I didn’t even see that.I like how you've incorporated the classic shape of the Enterprise's arrowhead insignia into the "antenna array", nice subtle homage!
Classic case of Trek on the Brain...OMG! I didn’t even see that. It’s just how I interpreted it.
The main body still looks like something Dumbo saw during his intoxicated state.
