Untitled Star Trek - Discovery project

I'm a journalist.

I have shared the info before, but I'm willing to share it again:

The information I got was an official production document for Star Trek - Starfleet Academy. It is described as a Discovery spin-off set on New Earth, which probably means it is set in the 32nd century, as season 3 of Discovery is (I wouldn't be surprised if Section 31 is set in the same century as well). The document from earlier this year says the show is in active development, not pre-production (yet). It includes several names and addresses (work related) from different producers on this show. It was a legitimate document.

"But We've told you that We believe you.
We didn't ask you about Starfleet Academy.
We asked how many lights you see.
"

To add, Starfleet Academy was in active development, but has been delayed indefinitely. The creative team behind the series are contracted to complete work on the first season of Gossip Girl for HBO Max, which now isn't expected to film until early 2021, before they can begin work on Starfleet Academy. Relationship coach and writer Tracy McMillan is the showrunner.

It is described as a Discovery spin-off set on New Earth,

"New Earth"? Imho, Terralysium is a more creative and fitting name - it's derived from Earth (Terra) but distinct (lysium). Terra Nova is another good example.
New Earth should be reserved for the new, definite homeworld of the Humans. Like New Romulus in STO, New Vulcan in KEL. Plus. Memory Alpha & Beta will have to disambiguate between "New Earth (Beta Quadrant)" and "New Earth (Delta Quadrant)". :ouch:

There's not all that much about this, but I think Terralysium is still the planet that Michael Burnham's mother landed on, whilst New Earth is what Discovery decides to name their rebuilt refugees-welcomed version of Earth.

Your belief that what you were shown to be an official and genuine document is no guarantee of its veracity.

Assuming one is needed.

We have absolutely no idea what, if anything, has happened to Earth. It could even still be one of the Federation's (six?) member worlds in the 32nd century.

^What, so now you’re going to develop an attitude too when your legitimacy is questioned, just like that other guy? That’s not very journalistic of you.

As it seems we are back to sniping at each other, and it appears that anything being discussed is either delayed or not Discovery forum related anyway, I think this thread has run its course.
