Spoilers The Flash - Season 6

This was the first episode post-crisis that I found fun. That said, it didn't really progress the Flash's story. I don't even get why Joe is the only one who has to go into witness protection.

What I really enjoyed was the B story--Ralph and Sue. I enjoyed seeing that Sue was not actually a villain--that her story ties in with the Carver plot somehow--and the great chemistry between Sue and Ralph. I now want an Elongated Man show.

What really annoys the hell out of me.....

Here's Barry Allen. Kind of a genius. Forensics expert, so he should be pretty good as figuring things out, right? His wife, who has known for about two decades in total, starts showing behavior completely out of nowhere that makes no sense.......and the dude isn't even questioning it. Just moping around feeling bad.

Right...... I never complained about sloppy writing in the Arrowverse shows because they're light entertainment. But that's like they don't even understand the character anymore.

Barry's universe with Earth 1 was destroyed.

Oliver built a new universe.

16 billion years later, in 2019 (again) Oliver takes the souls/memory engrams of the Earth 1 paragons "saved" from the beginning on the Earth prime universe, and injected them into their Earth Prime Dopplegangers, overwriting their their lives with the lives of the Earth One characters.

Oliver totally murdered these people.

Iris is not a paragon.

Her soul was not saved.

Her memories were not recovered.

Earth 1 was a different Earth that was destroyed 16 billion years ago.

Earth Prime Iris, a completely different person, had a history seminar of Earth one tibbits added to her memories. She was not changed into the original iris, she was just given a series of facts, that she was forced to believe and not question, what the hell is happening, since her Barry was murdered by Oliver and replaced by this dweeb.

Given that this update is from the Martian Manhunter, the update is not personalized, to sculpt each Earth Prime citizen into a remake exactly how they were in the older, long gone universe where earth one lived.

Facts were handed over, not emotions and feelings.

This Barry and this Iris are strangers who just met.

Wow...that is really good--and explains away the biggest plot hole of the second half of this season.

That was much much better than last week. That fight scene between Barry and Mirror Iris was incredible and I actually teared up with the closing scene. The Caitlin story didn't really need to be there though, but I was really impressed with this episode overall.

Definitely above the recent Flash average.

Definitely the best episode in a few months. One problem with the show is that storylines tend to move a bit slowly. This episode had some actual movement.

Yeah, the mirror fight scene was extremely well-choreographed. One of the most impressive action scenes of the season, despite not being huge in scale.

Ramsey returning was unexpected. And it's interesting to contrast him with Eva, who's not really evil, just obsessed with her vengeance on Carver, which as Iris figured out, reflects (heh) her continued love for him. So I think she's going to be redeemed, and possibly help Team Flash against Ramsey, who may be the final boss of the season. Or at least would've been if they hadn't had to cut the season short. Apparently episode 19 was always going to be a big action climax with a cliffhanger setting up the final 3-episode "act" of the season, so now it'll just be a big cliffhanger ending to the season setting up the next one.

It's frustrating how little they're using Ralph lately. With the Flash sidelined, the Elongated Man should be stepping up more than ever. I mean, with Caitlin sick and Cisco no longer Vibe, Ralph is the only functioning superhero on the team right now, but they're not using him in that capacity, just sidelining him with subplots -- which don't even justify his sidelining, because they keep getting wrapped up with plenty of time for him to help in the climax.

Come to think of it, we didn't see anyone suit up all episode, did we?

Afterthought: There were no witnesses to Mirror-Iris revealing herself and dying, or to Eva's escape. And Cecile was the only one who believed Barry was really Barry. How is he going to convince the others of any of this?

Central City's CCTV of course

Wow, we finally got some real movement on the plot this week.
Iris making everyone thing Barry was the Reflection was a nice move on her part.
The whole last part of the episode with the big Barry/Reflection Iris fight and Eva's escape was great.
Ramsey's role in all of this was a huge surprise, I did not expect to see him again.

I forgot to say something last night but I wanted to add something to my review. Candice Patton might be the best actress I've seen in the Arrowverse right now. The stuff she has done in the last few seasons, especially last night, has been incredible. She has amazing chemistry with Grant and I think that was why a scene I've seen called cringy, made me tear up last night. Contrast that with a week ago where Mirror Iris kicked Barry out, we got a scene reaffirming their strong bond together. Heck, the last half hour of last night's episode might have been some of the best I've seen from The Flash in a few seasons. I wanted forward movement, but I wasn't expecting to get as emotional as I did.

Does anyone know if there's a specific reason Jesse L. Martin appears to have left again? Was he having more issues with his back?

That scene at the end with Iris and Barry echoing their love and commitment to each other was beautiful. The director did a particular good job with the split screen effect to give the scene a mirror quality. Both the reflection of Iris on one side and Barry on the other side but also in the words that each spoke to each other. The symbolism was well done.
