Spoilers The Flash - Season 6

Really feels like it's time to decide if the Flash has any more stories they actually want to tell, and then either get back to it or call it a day. Nothing feels like it's going anywhere at this point, just sorta 'there'. And annoying (but not unexpected) how little Crisis appears to have mattered in any of the CW shows. (to be fair, I don't watch Black Lightning, so no idea there). Another reality-changing event that results in a couple name drops and then everything more or less returns to status quo. I mean, they tried for a moment, but at a very shallow level, and then just sorta petered out.

Aside from the tie-in episode during Crisis, the impact on BL has been almost nonexistent. There were a few minutes of discussion of it at the start of the next episode, then one reference to it a few episodes later, and absolutely no other effect on the storyline.

I dunno, just seems like the writers were having fun at the beginning, building and introducing things, but at this stage they've kinda burnt out and are treading water. Still not a terrible show, but can't quite figure out what their point is anymore other than obviously continuing to get paid. Which is perfectly valid and all, but from a show perspective, just doesn't feel like it's got much legs left.

I think that's the worse thing about this storyline. All the hype towards Crisis and I feel like if you missed the Crisis story, you wouldn't have missed much. This back half of Flash should have been the repurcussions of Crisis, and what changes occured. They did that in the first few episodes of this half, but it's almost like they just dropped it.

Last night's episode kind of sucked. I was surprised they didn't have a previously on The Flash, which they have had for every episode except for the first. Everything else in this episode dragged and I'm starting to get tired of the Mirror Master stuff. How many episodes has it been since Iris's kidnapping and Barry will finally figure it out next week? Things need to start happening. Yeah the episodes got cut because of the pandemic, but if they keep dragging these storylines like they do every year, they should just cut the episode order to 13 and end the seasons at the Christmas Break and then do midseason super hero shows or something. It seems like these writers are incapable of doing 22 episode seasons.

This show in particular, it seems, is notorious for introducing the big bad for the arc, and then just kinda burning off episodes for a while, mentioning the bad guy eventually, before being forced to deal with it towards the end of the arc. This mirror arc is particularly bad in that there's just not a lot of meat there, so they've been drawing it out but it just can't pay off that well. Feels like a 2-parter at best and they've been dragging it out since Crisis. At the expense of telling more stories about Crisis aftermath.

I have to admit, I was enjoying the episode while I was watching it, but thinking back over it, it really didn't do much. We had Joe go into WitSec, but other than that there was no real movement on any of the storylines.

I didn’t even remember Allegra still being mad at Nash until it came up in this episode. I enjoyed the mention of Ray. Remember season one when EVERY episode had some sort of forward movement?

I just remember we also did learn what is really going on with Sue, but even that still doesn't really add up to much in terms of the main plot arcs of the season.

As far as I'm concerned, Ralph/Sue is the main plot arc of the season -- leastways, it's the one I'm enjoying most at this point.
I don't watch Black Lightning
Why do you hate yourself?

Damn Joe, stream to the cloud, you know better. :). That was a very localized EMP...

I didn’t remember Ragdoll being so elastic, wasn’t he an extreme contortionist? Chalk it up to Crisis?

It’s why I stopped watching Supernatural. Even though I didn’t hate the show, it just seemed to spin wheels too much when there’s so much out there. After watching shorter series of late it just feels even more tedious in ~22 episode seasons.

I agree it's dragging on a lot.

Barry has to suspect something by now. Barry has no say when it comes to the witness protection program, both as the Flash and the Lab tech. Barry should have caught that. It wasn't like flash point, etc. It wasn't his decision to begin with. And he should have noticed the faux-Iris was more concerned about Joe's location rather than his well-being.

The whole Joe to witsec completely alone makes no real sense. A real life billionaire with a grudge against him and no ethics. Like he would just go "Oh well, let's leave his family alone cuz the guy went into witness protection"

"Iris" wasn't pretending to be mad at him for not putting Joe in WitSec, but for not telling her and giving her a chance to see him off (though she contrived that by not answering her phone).

Yanno that doesn't really negate what I said. I was questioning whether Barry noticed that her motives may not have as it should have, as she seemed more concerned about knowing where he was rather than whether her Dad was okay. Barry also had a subtle "WTF" look when "Iris" said they both have lost their parents. I don't think Barry believes it'd be something the real Iris would say.

I wasn't trying to negate that part, which is why I didn't quote that part. I'm just clarifying what her excuse for her feigned anger was. That's a separate point from your entirely correct assertion that she was trying to get Joe's whereabouts from Barry (and to push him to use up the last of his speed, either by unnecessary Flashery or by heightened emotion).

I'm really finding myself dragging through both Flash and Supergirl this season. Not interest anymore in how they get to the end, just tell me so I can move on. Legends is really the only show I care about now, because I care about the characters still. Same reason I still enjoyed Arrow in its last seasons.

The only ones of these shows I still actively care about are Black Lightning and Supergirl (though I have no doubt Superman & Lois will also be on that list whenever it premieres). That's not to say Sg has been good this year, because it hasn't, but I love the characters and all things "Super," so I'm still hanging in there hoping for better days to come.

The Flash honestly passed its sell-by date for me a long time ago.

The thing I find a bit annoying with shows like this and Supergirl, is that often times the individual episodes are still well done, and pretty good individually, but then when you look at them as part of the wider arc, it kind of falls apart. And there are often times where some parts of it are good, and other parts are kind of a mess.

It's doubly disappointing because Supergirl was great as recently as just last season; great individual episodes integrated nicely into a bigger overall arc. There was a significant change in the writing staff between Season 4 and Season 5 though, and I don't know specifically why that change occurred (aside from one of the writers leaving because he wanted to do something else), but it has clearly had an impact on the quality of the current season.

Really feels like Crisis derailed almost every Arrowverse show this season. Flash and Supergirl both went from average quality before Crisis to really subpar post-Crisis. Feels like the writers just didn't know what they wanted to do with post-Crisis effects and, as a result, both shows have kind of meandered around and dragged their feet.

Somewhat amusingly, the show that was subpar before Crisis (Batwoman) became pretty good post-Crisis.
