Star Trek Elite Force 2 was a day 1 purchase for me in 2003 and I've been playing it regularly for the last 17 years. For the first time ever, I just completed the game on its highest difficulty AND found more golden starships collectibles and secrets than I have ever done previously (picked up 56 out of 70)!

This game is truly a gem and I am so, so saddened that it hasn't gotten a digital release. With the renewed interest in Star Trek thanks to Discovery and Picard, the time seems ripe to re-release these gems on digital...and maybe make an Elite Force 3 :)

It was not as good as the first one, but had some amazing levels (everything in and on the E, and SFHQ)
EF3 would be a dream come true. Imagine a Borg level like in 1 and 2, but with a modern engine!

You know, I used to think EF1 was better than EF2, but there are a lot of nice little elements of EF2 that I come to miss when playing EF1. The secrets/collectibles mechanic is actually really fun, especially given some of the clever secret placement (I loved the "Aha!" feeling of accomplishment when I found new secrets). I also like the RPG elements -- something that I'd love to see dramatically expanded on in the EF3 that we'll likely never get.

Where I think EF1 has the upper hand is in the variety of the enemies -- EF2's opponents were mostly space alien bugs while EF1 had all sorts of races lifted directly from the shows. The environments were also more based on real Trek settings.

EF2's final boss on the Very Hard difficulty is a huge PITA, whereas the Vorsoth was pretty manageable. I rage quit several times before finally defeating it...and I was down to my last few health points, too. Had I not timed my final shot well, I'd have been toast.

I've never beaten EF1 on the very hardest difficulty, so that's what I'll be playing next :)

It was good game apart from them going far too much Quake with the weapons, that starfleet shotgun for one. lol

I was a little sad that the Compression Rife was de facto replaced by the Assault Rifle + Enhanced Compression Rifle...there was a fun dialogue between NPCs in the game debating the Assault Rifle vs Compression Rifle that made me smile :)

Loved these games! Will they work on Windows 10 still? I guess that they are not available on Steam?

Just completed Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force. That definitely brought back some good memories :)

After playing both of them relatively recently, though, I still think EF2 edges out the original -- but both are incredible. Hope they end up on digital distribution one day.

EF1 was better cause 2 lacked most of the known crew and didn't have the variety that 1 had (Klingon BoP, Mirror Connie, Borg cube, Etherean ship, all were amazing)

They do still work on Windows 10 -- I played both of them recently on a Windows 10 system! They're not available digitally...using hard-copies.
