1) Miramanee is supposed to marry him, but she goes with Kirok because although it is against practice, it is technically tradition as Kirok is believed to be a higher authority than Salish.
2) Presumably enough to earn him the title of 'medicine chief'

4) Again, ultimately he has little choice but to accept Kirok as a god, and to accept the marriage better Miramanee and Kirok.
5) He is painted as a very traditional, law-abiding man.
6) He was successful at using his knowledge to help others in the past. When the boy drowns, however, he does not succeed in using his medicine knowledge. It is Kirok who saves the boy. Equally, in the past he probably won Miramanee's heart; that is until Kirok came along.

-My look is not like the others, but what did we know or expect? If Romulans were offshoots of Vulcans then they should possible look like them, dark straight bang cut hair, not blond/light/aged with curly bangs, but then we didn't know about the Romulans look.
-I have knowledge and experience but it doesn't mean I have a lot of power. Knowledge when he speaks of Decius' friends, "and friends of his kind mean power. And power is danger." His rank of Centurion is not one of high rank as far as decision making goes.
