Did Sisko kill a turkey?

I guess Mama O'Brien kept and slaughtered voluntary animals?
Or she just walked down to the local market and purchased meat.

My guess most people replicate their meats most of the time,
My guess is that on planets capable of growing and raising food, replicator use would be rare.

I can't really think that killing and eating a living creature is humane.
That makes you the minority among the Human species.

Possibly going to Quonos and hunting a wild targ and
Or instead going to Quiznos.

O' Brien never explicitly says his mother handled real meat of animals,
Yeah, that's exactly what he said. Handled, touched, cut.

KEIKO: She handled real meat? She touched it and cut it?
O'BRIEN: Yeah, like a master chef. She was fantastic.

Humans only eat replicated animal meat. Yet for some reason some like Soylent Green so it's a weird and confusing time in the 24th century.

I wonder if, in the future, you could grow fresh meat in a lab via cloning. You grow everything except the neurological system, so you get real meat with no killing. Just spitballin' ;)

I swear I saw a product in the store just about two days ago called "SoyLent".
I didn't want to hang out and figure out what it was, but it sort of weirded me out.

Did he kill a turkey? I think in 30 years the answer will be a resounding no. Today, we say, sure, it's "natural."

What a funny question. I know there leftist culture in here like nitrogen and that a vegan philosophy isn’t too surprising but it reminds me of that curiosity in which vegans have a love for faux meat products. The hero of Star Trek is the replicator when you think about it but I really adore that this question was asked at all.

"Nitrogen"? I'm sure this was autocorrected, but I can't imagine what was meant.

Non vegans have a belief that vegans search for faux meat.

I can understand that it’s a touchy subject and that many vegans are defensive on the matter but the sheer data on sales and commentary from the vegan community itself demonstrate how that claim is false. Besides omnivores aren’t following a belief but in fact observation of vegan products, marketing and consumption.

I gave up eating meat in the mid 1980's - I love meat substitutes, some of them are great. They're not a massive part of my diet, but I enjoy them fairly often. I'll certainly be doing lab grown neat when it becomes cheap and plentiful.

Regarding the original question, no, the majority see nothing wrong with killing for food, even if we don't need to, but attitudes have changed enough to indicate that that will probably not be the majority view in the future.

There were always people uncomfortable with slavery, but it wasn't the majority view, and things didn't change until wider attitudes did.

You'd be hard pressed to find open support for it these days.
