It's an amazing resource, all those tech pics, observations, comparisons... and his opinion usually comes with reasons.
Most opinions come with reasons.

But, his definition of Trek is a tight black and white box that I don't completely agree with. I admire his passion though, but I don't agree with his opinion.

Sir Patrick was on BBC's Front Row earlier and he stated that PIC's season 2 will - of course - be delayed due to current circumstances and that he estimates September as the earliest start for shooting season 2. He also mentioned a recent (virtual) meeting of all the actors and that the writers are working on season 2 from home and are apparently also discussing ideas for season 3 already.

Ironically, the PIC Starfleet ships are fugly, while most of the DSC Starfleet ships fit my idea of what early 25th century ships should look like.

Come on guys.

Yes, Bernd Schneider is extremely anal about this stuff. But you have to, if you want such a large encyclopedia up and running and consistent.

He's also extremely consistent:
He doesn't accept the "official" lengths for the USS Defiant, the Klingon BoP, the Excelsior or the JJprise either. For good reasons.

He's also 100% right.
No matter how you slice it, if you call it a "visual reboot", a "re-imagination", or just "an oerhaul" - DIS doesn't fit in with the rest of the Trek universe, visually & technologically, the same way the Kelvin-universe doesn't. They're just different on a fundamental level, even if they're the same property (like Batman '66 and The Dark Knight).

It's also very obvious he doesn't decide based on quality or personal preference (PIC ain't that much different than DIS) - he's deciding on technicalities. As one should - on a website about fictional technicalities. He puts his own opinions into his opinion section. And even there, I find myself more agreeing with him than disagreeing. But his objectivity in running his encyclopedia with almost scientific accuracy is completely out of the question.

Random thought: I wonder if they're "Synthetics" in Picard because "Android" has since become Google's mobile operating system and probably has all the copyrights in the world.

The Picard series ships and the Discovery ships are nothing alike, the Disco and Picard ships look appropriate to their respective era's, whatever my issues may be with the original Disco Klingon ships I never had a problem with the Starfleet ones.

Actually, the DSC ships look like a hodgepodge of different eras. And since there's only one Starfleet ship revealed in 2399, there's no basis on which to assume that that's what a 2399 ship should 'appropriately' look like, unless there are literally no other ship classes in existence at that time but that one.

It's actually trademarked by LucasFilm (which is now owned by Disney).

Google pays Disney up the wazoo for the use of the term.

Are you making a joke? “Android” is a word in the dictionary. If I write a book and use the term ‘android,’ I’m pretty sure I don’t have to pay Disney squat.
