My favorite line: "I'm going to miss being a planet."

I was afraid the story would end with Della making some sacrifice that would separate her from the family again and restore the previous status quo. I'm glad she's still part of the ensemble.

Was that actually Tony Anselmo (Donald) doing the Mickey Mouse impression?

Chris Diamantopoulos (who voices Mickey in the recent Mickey shorts and also plays both Storkules and Darkwing voiced Mikey or "Melon" as they credit it

Not surprising that they got an "actual" Mickey actor to do it, but it's a bit disappointing that it wasn't just Anselmo doing a Mickey voice. It would've been an interesting change of pace to hear him doing a "normal" voice (relatively) for once. Looking over his IMDb page, it's vanishingly rarely that he's played anyone other than Donald and occasionally his nephews. Other than an "Additional Voices" credit in a Phineas and Ferb episode, you have to go back to the '80s for "Thug Guard" in The Great Mouse Detective, "Mayor" in a Real Ghostbusters episode, and both Donald and "Screenwriter" in a Magical World of Disney episode.

Worth noting: This season finale about invaders from the Moon blasting Earth out of its orbit aired just one day before the 20th anniversary of the date when the Moon was blown out of Earth's orbit according to Space: 1999. They missed the anniversary by one day!!! So close.

...and they're back! A wonderfully fun episode to return on to boot. I really loved the race between Huey and Violet where they both learned important life lessons. The side race with Scrooge and company wasn't quite as exciting but at least Scrooge also learned a good lesson (plus, I was greatly amused by how the mosquitoes focused only on poor Donald).

I had forgotten about the secret society of villains or whatever they were called so it was nice to get a reminder about them here. I look forward to plenty of Marc Evan Jackson villainy (even if there's no topping Shawn the demon). :D

I didn't like the racing episode, but the second episode was pretty good. The laugh track joke got on my nerves in the beginning, but I liked all the references and it got pretty funny once they started realizing what was happening. It was really weird to see this Scrooge in the older Scrooge suit, it just didn't look right with this version (I like both Scrooge's a lot, it was just weird to see Tennant's version with those clothes). I did like Launchpad's old look better then his new one though, even with the current voice.

I hope Goofy exists in the "real" Ducktales world and that we get to see him again sometime, he was a really fun part of the episode.

Ah, ha! So that's how they worked in the "Rescue Rangers"! :techman:

"I centupled its intelligence...I raised its IQ...I made the dumb rat smart."

"Oh! I see. What you got there is a Smart Rat ray. Why didn't you just say that?"

That was a great way to introduce the Rescue Rangers! I just wished they had lines instead of silently assisting Launchpad throughout. Maybe sometime in the future...

Speaking of Launchpad, he has finally met his match with Steelbeak. And who better to voice Steelbeak than the always irascible Jason Mantzoukas?! I hope we see plenty more of the character this season as F.O.W.L. unveils their...foul...plans. :D

Overall, I really loved this episode with its James Bond overtones and how Launchpad and Dewey thought they were just playing a game the whole time (although, obviously, smart Launchpad saw through the facade). Smart Launchpad, like intelligible Donald, is a fun aside but of course, he had to go back to normal. But at least it was a noble sacrifice.

I forgot to comment on last week's second episode. I really enjoyed how it broke the fourth wall with Huey being the only one to slowly realize something was wrong with the show playing out like a scripted, live 90s sitcom. Great reveal that the whole thing was the result of Donald accidentally wishing the whole thing into existence because he wanted a "normal" family life courtesy of Gene the Genie (good to see him again!).

Lastly, I love that Della has been properly incorporated into the opening sequence. She's an excellent addition to the cast.

I know I'm gonna' get crucified for this, but...

I never imagined we'd ever see Gadget naked in an official Disney cartoon!

(And cue the pitchforks and torches in...three...two...one...)

Although it's interesting how her whole body changed after becoming super smart. She went from a typical rotund rat shape to her well-known feminine physique.

So was she naked before or after acquiring that physique? I ask purely for clarification... :D

Before she was "zapped" and thus still a "plump" lil' thing.

Black Heron was showing some lab footage presenting a "before" and "after" to SteelBeak. Then he wondered if Gadget sewed her jumpsuit upon a normal sewing machine or if she engineered one in her scale and then used that to clothe herself. The writers obviously had a field day "lampshading" some of the things we nerdy fans would speculate.

Well, obviously she built her own. She's Gadget, isn't she?

It's finally coming back tomorrow! And to celebrate, here's the great and wonderful Giancarlo Esposito talk about guesting on the show (spoilers for his character):
