Aside from Stewart, what actor/actress killed it in S1?

I don't know think Stewart was actually that good in Picard. Apart from Rizzo, everyone else out acted him.

I think Patrick Stewart had the worst performance. His facial expressions seemed incongruous to the situation at hand on several occasions.

I assumed that was intentional. Inappropriate emotions can be a symptom of degenerative brain diseases. There are a few times where Picard makes extremely inappropriate gestures, like his applause when Raffi gets him diplomatic credentials, at the price of a close friendship. That, and Picard really is enjoying being back in the saddle again, having another adventure.

Personally, I think everyone hit it out of the park on this one.

I'd say the weakest cast member was Brian Brophy; he didn't even phone it in. :shifty:

No, seriously, I loved the entire cast. I was wishing for the two Romulans from the châteaux to show up at the end, because those actors did such a good job, too. Also, I wanted more Ann Magnuson. I was so glad we got to see as much of the Berman era cast members as we did.

I was pretty good with all of the talent. Even Peyton List did what she could with the material she was given; the bravery that she showed in the opening scene of "Broken Pieces", when she despite her fear grabbed onto the Admonition with both hands, made me wish for a version of Narissa where her virtues would outweigh her vices.

If it was intentional, then it would have served some point in the plot, most likely tipping off the other characters something was wrong, but they never suspect anything.

I would say they did. There were several times when I, too, was puzzled by Picard's reactions, and the characters did seem to notice just when I did, such as when it appears he has died in the captain's chair, and when Picard starts up a conversation with Jurati without even opening his eyes.

I was astonished how much Jery Ryan improved since VOY. One of the best.
Frakes, Sirtis and Spiner were great, but we've grown used to that (ok, Sirtis wasn't very good in early TNG, but she improved very fast).
Amongst the new cast, I really liked Laris and Zhaban, both the characters and acting. Shame they were put on a bus.

Worst were Narek & Narissa. It's largely due to the writing, but not solely, I think.

Is that in the last episode after he made the announcement of his disorder and impending death? That's not what I'm referring to. I'd have to rewatch to find the scenes where his facial expression doesn't match what is happening. I think it took so much out of what was going on I can't even remember what was happening at the time.

Jeri Ryan was amazing in Voyager, but then she had better material. Her scenes in Voyager were the best I've seen in all of trek. I really hope the writing and directing improves next season. Trek shows always get better after the first season.

Opinion? It is a known fact backed up by numerous peer reviewed studies. Google it. And it is completely about Jeri Ryan and Seven of Nine not the rest of Voyager which I consider TNG light.

Hmmm. If you know about peer reviewing, then you should know about objective vs. subjective. "I disagree" would've worked.

For the record, Seven is my favorite character on VOY too.

My comment was more than adequate for expressing my thoughts/feelings/personality. Wouldn't be much of a forum if the comments were limited to I agree/disagree.

I will not "Google it." Provide evidence that Seven's scenes are the "best in all of Star Trek."

But, it's ok for it to be an opinion. Art is subjective and people enjoy different things and Star Trek is no exception.

I didn't expect you to Google it. I was being facetious. Obviously it is my opinion which is why I thought it strange to point out.
