Spoilers Star Trek Picard Season 2 Hopes and Predictions

I'd like them to address why Seven said she had no family. That's some heavy foreboding in regards to her Voyager crewmates and what may have happened to them.

Once they got back to the Alpha Quadrant, they all immediately signed up for another ship (without Seven), only to have said ship disappear again into the Delta Quadrant.

Oh, and Janeway died right after her communication with Picard in Nemesis.

As for what I want: The Enterprise-F. Not that thing from Star Trek Online, and not some rushed-at-the-last-minute design like the ships at the end of the finale. I want a new design that was created with love and care by someone like Andrew Probert or Rick Sternbach.

I'd love to see Seven added to the main cast, with perhaps a storyline focus on the Fenris Rangers as a consequence. Naturally, I hope that the rumors about Robert Picardo's return are true and Seven will be reunited with the EMH at one point. And as a wish, meeting Janeway as well and seeing her perspective on Seven's choices since they last saw each other would be also nice.

I recognize I'm in a very small minority with this, but I also really hope Narissa survived somehow, because I loved to hate her as such a deliciously hammy, cartoonish villain who constantly means danger and always gets away in the nick of time. If she returned and Narek didn't, I'd be perfectly happy.

My number one wish is to really keep examining the Federation's frontier where people are still struggling and Earth's hand still can't reliably reach them to protect them. So yeah, La Sirena as vigilantes fighting injustice and helping people in need, that sounds nice.

My number two wish is really more like a pipe dream, but I'd love to see more Deep Space Nine content in season 2, perhaps even an actual visit. I'm about 90% sure it won't be happening though. They haven't been connected to Picard's story in any way since he resolved his conflict with Sisko right in the pilot.

I'd go the other way on this. Have her addiction always be a part of her, something she has to struggle with and be tempted by. Give the character a ongoing personal weakness.
It will always be a part of her, anyway. But if she keeps on using, it will destroy her. That's more than just a weakness. YMMV, of course. I'm kind of glad that Jean-Look is not threatened by imminent death anymore, I'd like to see Raffi healthier, too. It has taken quite a while, but I've come to really like her. I'm sure she has enough neuroses and problems left to keep us all intrigued! :-)

Team-building. That's my biggest wish for season two. They've got this interesting mix of characters aboard La Sirena now, they are all likeable, charismatic characters played by strong, talented actors, but their development through season one was patchy and the development of their interpersonal dynamics patchier still. So I'd like for season two to lean into the ensemble a bit more.

I don't think we should take that line too much to heart. It was Elnor who said that he couldn't see what the xBs had to live for in their condition, with no family and no home and everyone hating them - when Seven repeated the line back at him in relation to herself, she was effectively throwing his statement back in his face, reminding him that she too is an xB (and that if he wouldn't say that about her, he shouldn't say it about them). And it is literally true that she doesn't have a family of the regular kind. She may or may not still be in touch with the pseudo-family she found during her time on Voyager, but she has clearly moved on from their time together, and they weren't her true family in the sense Elnor was talking about. And when Elnor said it about the xBs...it is interesting to note that he too has no family and no home, really speaking, so it could be interpreted as him projecting onto the xBs some of the uncertainty he himself feels about his place in the universe.

That's exactly what I'm interested in. I don't buy the notion that Seven would have joined Starfleet or settled into an equally important role with the Federation. In all likelihood she would have experienced her share of identity crises as she tried to integrate into a society that was never truly her own. The fact that Janeway remained in by-the-book Starfleet and continued to move up in its ranks may well have alienated Seven even further, who clearly has identified with those whom Janeway's world has left behind.

Oh, and I'd like at least one appearance of Clancy! Have a drink with the crew at Quark's... or at Borg's, the new restaurant on the synth plant, located in the cube.

I second the wish for team building.

More meaningful conversations/ interactions that feel honest and earned, like in episode 8, my absolute favorite of the season.

  • more episodic stories interspersed with the ones relating to the season's overarching themes and direction
  • backstory on the Fenris Rangers and what Seven's been up to all this time, and what's going on with the rest of the VOY crew
  • anything to make the Seven/Raffi relationship feel as though it didn't just materialize out of thin air
  • so much more Rios and also his delightful holoselves
  • Ro Laren, not just because she was a favorite character of mine but also because her perspective would be a great lens through which to learn how the Federation has been changing, it seems in a dark way, since we last checked in. And I think she and Seven and she and Rios would have interesting interactions.
  • resolution on what the hell happened with Narek at the end of S1
  • resolution on the status of the Borg in general and the cube from S1 in particular

As silly as this sounds...

I would love to finally see the Starfleet Museum..see the NX-01, the "Constitution Class" that Picard mentioned, etc.

I mean we finally saw the Starfleet archives, why not the fleet museum?

I've heard that Guinan and the Doctor are rumoured appearing, so as well as those I think I'd also like to see La Forge, Worf and Q.

I'm aching to hear more about the current status of the different races we all knew and loved like the Klingons and Cardassians. I'd love to see what is going on post-Dominion with them as well. Maybe evena visit DS9, or Bajor?

Failing that, one or two characters could pop up as a guest star. Just don't die please. ;)

I hope Seven is part of the crew full-time now, but I still want more of the Fenris Rangers.

I predict Guinan and the Doctor from VOY will make appearances.

Two people who called help Picard come closer to his new self. One for remembering who he was, one for helping him be aware he's still real.

More episodic adventures. These big serial stories never work well.

Sure they do. You just don't like them. Never mistake personal preference for absolute fact. ;)

I'm jumping on the episodic bandwagon as well, which surprises me because I am generally a fan of serialized storytelling. But, to be honest, serialized storytelling does not seem to be their forte, as evidenced by the first three seasons of NuTrek.

Also, the writers room needs a poster on the wall reading "All life in the Galaxy is under threat" with a big red X thru it.

Stewart has said that the situation is bigger than they thought and we can see that.

- Picard being a synth will be an issue, both for him and for society. I mean people being resurrected in new bodies? That's something.

- Jurati was slated for prison. Something will have to happen that prevents her from going, like a new threat that puts them on the run or in pursuit of something right out of the gate in season 2.

- Picard also has to keep his promise of being an advocate for synths, so I can't wait to see how that unfolds given that he's out and about on a ship. Again, something will have to happen that prevents him from going home to be a diplomat just yet.

- We might see the synth gods and those tentacles again, if not in season 2, then at a later date.

- It wouldn't surprise me if Rizzo was still alive and perhaps augmented with borg tech that keeps her alive after that fall. Or they might even cut back and forth between La Sirena and Coppelius where she has to grapple with becoming a synth herself.
