That was a viewscreen. It used visual sensors to show any image they wanted. Like all other Fed ships since then.

I think my question got lost in the midst of everything, so I'll ask again:

Did the Starfleet vessels look like Avenger or Arbiter class ships to anyone else, or was it just me?

I agree, but maybe he was trying to be more human? In that eerie gray death setting. This was about the captain and about Data's final foray into humanity. He went Gregorian for it lol.

Again I agree with the nitpick though. Another good one from last episode is that Sutra said "fascinating" (Spock's catchphrase) instead of...was it "interesting"...or was it "intriguing"...(which is what Data said more), after she preformed the mind-meld on Jurati. It was a little thing, but... Chabon loved TOS most (it's why we got so many little TOS references, instead of maybe TNG ones?) so I understand his error, but I forgive it because it was a lovely episode all the same.

...Except for those hideous Federation ships. The Big Business that is Gaming I think is now killing canon ship design.

Sutra saying "fascinating" was most definitely not an "error," it was clearly intentional, because she is described as an afficianado of Vulcan culture. She was using the Vulcanesque phrase, not the Datonian one.

It's silly to assume that humans would dominate the Federation so completely to begin with, but here we are.
I bet if someone asks on Instagram, Chabon will say it was on purpose. Sutra's a Vulcanophile, after all. :techman:

He shouldn't need to spell it out for anyone, it's clear from context in the episode.

    It's a two-parter, not a three-parter.

did you actually watch the episode and pay attention? this is the most unwarranted, pointless attack that I've read in a while.

Are you sure he cried? I didn't see that...

Yes, Soong said that everything works ;)

Would you have preferred everyone shrugging, kicking him into a pit, and walking away laughing? :p

The version from "Where No Man Has Gone Before" had a large black rectangle that could be interpreted as a window.

Thank goodness. I'm sure Jean-Luc will be happy to know that. (Not that I'd have minded if it didn't work, I'd be totally okay with that. I just had to know.)

I'd have preferred if they had developed the relationships better, so that I felt what they wanted me to feel when the time came. Or, even better, they could just not have killed Picard only to immediately resurrect him two scenes later. ;)

I agree. But context seems to elude a certain subset of the posts in these threads, which is sad because...

I think you missed the quite obvious attachment that Rios and Jurati formed to Picard over the season, and the fact that Raffi and Elnor both had long-standing, emotionally-fraught relationships with him. So as a writer, a viewer and a fan, no, I'm buying into this criticism at all.

Are you secretly The God Thing? 'Cause that sounds like something he'd have said. You might be meaning it sarcastically, he would have been dead earnest.

I'm aware. I've read Q-Squared. That doesn't negate my comment one bit.

He's not The God Thing. I'd recognize TGT anywhere.

More likely ran out of time........They only turned in the final VFX shots 5 days ago. Most people are going to do screen caps and analyse things like we do. No real beauty shots either so NBD for me.

What's that old adage about accepting the things we can not change ....

Seems to fit exceptionally well when watching a TV show.

    Especially the wisdom part.

Something about grant me the wisdom to turn to a different show, if what I'm watching doesn't meet my expectations.
