I wish we had a continuation of Universe, with threads from SG1 and Atlantis woven in. There was still plenty of potential and room to grow the Gateverse. What were everyone's memories of the shows?

Universe was garbage. They should have kept it a TV movie like they first planned.

It's amazing MGM just doesn't want to do anything with the franchise, even when it wouldn't have cost them anything.

It’ll comeback eventually. Everything does in the end.
Just don’t put Kurtzman in charge. :)

I miss Stargate too! All of them. And those poor SG Universe people stuck in Limbo between Galaxy's forever!!!!
Watched a couple of SG Atlantis the other day just for old times sake. I miss Caprica too, it was never finished. Now that series had potential. And Firefly......and....so much more....

I miss it as well. Even Universe was a good show IMO. It's only problem is it had to live in the shadow of Battlestar Galatica. I liked most of the characters especially Eli. I hope it returns as well but I want more tv Stargate than some different thing connected only to the movie. I really liked the movie but the tv shows is what really made it a franchise.

The original movie was OK. SG1 was great until RDA left. Atlantis was OK, had its moments. Universe was OK too, very underrated. No doubt Stargate will be back, either a new movie or a TV series.

Love Stargate. I used to hate Universe until a recent rewatch where I saw it was way ahead of it's time, and I think it would have been a perfect fit for streaming had it been 5-10 years after Atlantis ended rather than a replacement.

I'm still sad we never got that reboot movie, which was planned until Independence Day 2 tanked.

    I loved Universe.

It's way past the point where it could come back, but a new show could resolve it and also pick up some threads from the other shows.

You didn't think the Atlantis finale was good?

I miss Stargate a lot. SG1 had so many fun moments but also tender moments, too many to mention. There was a real sense of adventure and chemistry between the cast. And so many classic moments too.

Atlantis also had good adventure and chemistry and had some really cool concepts like when Atlantis first lifts off the planet and goes into space.

SGU was a different beast. The showrunners seemed to imitating NuBSG with a darker theme and more inter character drama. It lacked the fun adventure aspect of SG1 and Atlantis. However, it did tell have a good and compelling story arc. The concept of an intelligence before the Big Bang was intriguing. It is a shame the series never had a proper ending.

I first watched it when it was airing daily on scifi when I was in college, that was while season 7 was new and I caught up a few episodes before Lost City.

The trouble with continuing it is I think a lot of what made it unique, besides having such a great ensemble, is that the technology was more limited. They were fighting with assault rifles, zats and staves. By the end of the series they had full on Star Trek level tech and every story was about finding the next super powerful ancient artifact. When I revisit the series I pretty much stop after season 7, also watching important episodes in season 8. "Moebius" is the series finale for me.

Atlantis was the only one that really had an ending. SG-1 intentionally avoided any kind of finality because they were planning on moving onto DVD movies, which got abandoned because of MGM's financial problems. And SGU ended on a cliffhanger.
In addition to reports of Brad Wright talking with MGM about a revival, RDA and Amanda Tapping have been making vague comments about "something happening" at conventions in the past year. Just after New Year's there was a report of MGM and Apple+ having talks about Stargate, though it's unclear if that was actually about a new series or just for streaming rights for SG-1, Atlantis, and SGU.

How did SGA get an ending?

The Wraith are still killing Humans for food. Surley the natural conclusion for that show is the Wraith either dead or at peace (finding a different food source).

Sure there's more that could be done, I'm just saying in comparison to the other two, Atlantis is the one that ended with an ending as opposed to. Though, personally I never saw Atlantis moving towards the eradication of the Wraith anyway.

I liked SG1 a lot, even the later seasons (I actually liked Mitchel better then O'Neil, and think that Bowder and Black are better on this show then on Farscape). SGA I've only seen about a season and a half of, but I've been thinking about continuing it on Hulu since I need stuff to watch and its one of the only SciFi shows of its type that I haven't watched (not counting SGU, which I saw two-three episodes of and knew I'd never watch it).

I'm glad that the rumored remake of the original movie isn't happening. The Stargate movie is mediocre and its only really good thing in my opinion is SG1 coming from it, I wouldn't want to see the movie redone, especially by the people who made the first one and seem to dislike the stuff that came after the movie.

I do know their is comic books that are still following the adventures of Universe but of course nothing can replace a actual tv show production.

SGA got an ending because the Final Boss Wraith was defeated and Atlantis finally came home to Earth.

No way the ending was such a let down....like the show got cancelled and they had one episode to wrap it all up.
They found a magic button that allowed them to fly all the way to earth...give me break.
Love the show up to the end though.
