Spoilers The Dr. Agnes Jurati Thread

I just had the idea that Jurati might also be a synch. What if she was created by Doctor Maddox? Maybe she is modeled after someone in Picards life like a former member of his crew as a child. My other idea is they lied about Data not being resurrected through B-4 and this new secret society wants to kill Data so Maddox took off with Data or more likely Data's memories/personality and is hiding from them to protect Data. The Twins are somehow connected to this and when they talk to their Mom's they are actually talking to Maddox somehow.

Hmm,

During the final scene, Agnes seems to smile in the manner a fan might have when Picard said "Engage". Definitely felt like there was some familiarity with it at least. However, I haven't figured out how she ended up with that disruptor rifle at the chateaux. Just turning up at that time, and not being stopped or noticed by the Romulans definitely feels suspicious.

It felt suspicious, at the same time, she could have simply picked up a dropped rifle from the beginning of the firefight.

I am going to guess that she has been compromised by Commodore Oh, but that she will fight it

I am sure they thought of a Roger Korby moment, where someone you thought was human is actually not. Not sure who that might be, but a definite possibility.

Alison Pill is killing it (metaphorically) in this series.

She conveys emotion, depth, and nuance in Jurati like no one else on this show.

She's the only actor consistently to elevate her dialog.

She's also had the most compelling arc, and I *still* don't know where she'll end up next week.

Best surprise breakout performance.

Me and my family find her the weakest link in the series, honestly.

After what she did to Maddox especially, even with the influence of the meld, they're trying to hard to force a redemption on her that doesn't feel earned or true.

I'm loving Pill's performance as Jurati. It's great to see a Star Trek character who isn't an uber-competent Starfleet paragon. She's quirky and neurotic and, yes, appropriately anguished over what she did to Maddox. (I loved her hiding the table during the turbulent passage through the conduit.)

And, dialogue-wise, she has her own distinctive voice, which contrasts nicely with the other cast members.

"Does anybody else think the Way of Absolute Candor sounds kinda annoying?"

Loved that bit.

I think she's great and really, always have admired her work, from the first time I saw her in Scott Pilgrim to her work on The Newsroom. She definitely brings something to the character of Jurati, which, given the wrong actor, could seem very one-dimensional.

Me and my family find her the weakest link in the series, honestly.

At first, her delivery reminded me so much of Dr Gillian Taylor (Catherine Hicks in ST IV), but she always surprises me. Her fear when swallowing the tracking device ("It must be chewed...") was amazing, complete with trembling chin. She's perky when we least expect it and brave/bold when we least expect it. Sometimes Raffi says things she has observed about Agnes a few seconds after I have said them to the TV. Really enjoying the actor and character.

I appreciate some similarities between Jurati and Tilly on Disco. Both are a couple of steps removed from the usual Star Trek mold and toggle between great vulnerability and great strength. These are two of my favorite characters in 21st century Trek.

Yeah, Jurati reminds me of Tilly, but with the visuals of Eleanor Shellstrop from The Good Place.

Yeah, Jurati reminds me of Tilly,
