    Denise.

    She has the Sele Idol.

Also, when did Sophie give her half of the Dakal Idol back to Kim?

What do you think of Denise’s move? Seems like a huge gambit. Greatly increases her odds to win a final vote but greatly reduces her odds to get there.

The whole betrayal of Sandra was theatre more than strategy. I think that was a mistake. That and playing both idols. Playing it on herself and axing Tony was her best move. Axing a possible big ally just to have a “Big move”, way too early.

At this point out of the people not on Exile I think the list of most to least likely to win is:
    Sophie
    Sarah
    Yul
    Ben
    Jeremy
    Kim
    Nick
    Michele
    Denise
    Wendell
    Adam
    Tony

Keeping Sandra around offered zero upside for Denise because it would've cost her her Fire Tokens with zero guarantee that Sandra wouldn't stab her in the back going forward.

She would've still had her own Idol as a temporary failsafe, but if she was forced to play it, all her security would be gone.

By playing both Idols and getting rid of Sandra, Denise demonstrated loyalty to Jeremy (despite him not being loyal to her), kept herself in the game physically, and kept a Fire Token, letting her remain in the running for potential EoE advantages.

She also got rid of Sandra in a way that didn't obviously alienate Tony or Kim, which keeps the potentiality of an alliance with one or both of them alive if they all make it to the Merge.

Parvati going home, on the other hand, pretty much made Wendell, Yul, and Nick "Public Enemy No. 1" if they and Michelle all make it to the merge because Michelle is now a " free agent" with motive to burn them all, especially if she were to hook up with the other women post-Merge.

As of right now, Sophie, Sarah, and Denise are all in the "power pole position" - either because of their current or past alliances or their most recent actions - while everyone else is on uncertain footing.

Denise was in control at this tribal council, but she ceded a lot of control by causing herself to be seen as one of the people with a good final tribal argument.

Don't forget we're close to the merge, if it's not next week it's soon. And that Nick, Yul and Wendell were in the alliance with Sophie, and they can potentially pull in Sarah and control a very powerful voting block. That alliance might also be attractive to Ben.

Tyson's gambit to use the fire tokens for food instead of the advantage is interesting, we'll see what kind of challenge it is.

I wonder how Survivor will handle the final reveal. Obviously no reunion show, maybe they'll just have Jeff appear alone on camera and read the votes.

I think both immunity idols were going to expire after that council; so, why not play them both. Axing Sandra saved her a fire token, too.

That vote for sandra was so brilliant I broke into applause on my couch. Sandra must have known Denise's vote was going to be the only o e that counted though

    No.

Only Sandra's Idol - which she bought from Natalie on EoE (and is the Idol Denise played on herself) - was time-constrained.

Denise could've held on to her Sele Idol (which is the one she played for Jeremy) up until the last few Tribal Councils.

Thanks for the good info. :techman: Looking back, playing her idol makes sense to guarantee getting Sandra out. It would have only taken one vote to go against Jeremy to tie the vote, then he would be out on the re-vote. Since Sandra knew Denise was going to play the idol, then she could have (and should have) cast a vote for Jeremy to tie up the vote knowing that he would lose on a revote no matter who Denise voted for. Sandra must have gone loopy from lack of food.

The Sandra vote went about the way I predicted. I was a bit surprised that Parvati was voted out instead of Wendell, though.

So, Boston Rob, Parvati, and Sandra were voted out in back-to-back-to-back tribal councils. I guess that means all the most interesting people are on Edge of Extinction.

Well, I did not see this development happening. I wonder if she was being completely upfront, or if there was some other reason.

^ If you're talking about Sandra, yes, she was completely upfront about why she didn't stay on EoE.

Sandra leaving wasn’t too surprising. She knows she can’t win a challenge.

The thing about Sandra’s game. It works really well if nobody sees you coming. After her second victory she never had a real chance in any future game.

I’m sorry to see Yul go over Wendell, but Yul dug his own grave. If he hadn’t plotted to get Wendell’s chip he’d be fine.

Wondering when the Exile competition happens. Rob and Natalie with the most advantages but Tyson with peanut butter. Should be interesting.

    This coming episode.

Probst flat-out said so in his most recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

    BOOOOOO! :scream:

The wrong person won. Now I have to hope that Denise wins the game, because there is nobody else I want to win now (well, I wouldn't mind Jeremy, but this season is not turning out how I wanted).

^ Who did you want to get back in the game at this point?

My pick was Natalie, although I do like Tyson (even though he's no longer a fellow Utahn).

Also, there's still another EoE competition that'll happen as we get into the season's "endgame".

As soon as I saw that Natalie was part of the cast, I wanted her to win.

This is what I thought would happen with Denise, she's the only one with a resume now so she gets targeted. If she didn't win the challenge she'd probably have been voted out.

I enjoyed the complex social dynamics that lead to that vote. I was glad it came down to Adam and Wendell, those are two people I don't think are playing a good game and aren't that entertaining. It's making Sophie look powerful, as she's the one whose word saved Nick. But also she's starting to get credit which is dangerous for her.

I'm glad Tyson won cause I think he has a better shot than Rob who would have just tried to take control again and gotten voted out again.

True. In fact, I would go so far as to say it's actually better for Rob to just barely lose the first Extinction challenge. He needs to get back into the game as late as possible to have a chance at winning the $2 million, and a tight loss could actually help in selling himself to the jury at the end (as, under those circumstances, he would have either won or barely lost both chances to get back in the game from Extinction).
