I'm mostly a lurker, this board is way too active to keep up on. Plus I like to stick to the TOS side of things, and just sneak into the new Picard stuff... which I haven't seen yet, but am likely to be swayed. ;)

I am with you... and Picard is not that bad. I just threw out what I thought about Star Trek and expected nothing. I was very happily surprised so far.

Hello all! New member here too.

I've enjoyed Star Trek ever since a friend spent a year in the US back in the 80's, and brought a bunch of Trek novels with him. Some years later I got to see TNG, and little by little the rest of the series. And I've enjoyed them all, except the Abrams movies which feel more like parodies.

Also, 25 years in the alt.starfleet.rpg writing club.

Hi ya'll. I'm a little noob here.

I've enjoyed star trek since I was a kid. I don't actually remember the exact moment or tv show/movie that got me into it. I'd probably say that Voyage home played the biggest role. That's just a feeling I have though. I've seen all of the movies so so many times. Except for the motion picture, search for Spock, and also wrath of Khan strangely enough. I don't know why, but none of them do it for me compared to the others. Even the other "bad" movies I actually enjoy haha.

TNG and Voyager are my favourite series. I liked Enterprise quite a bit too. Although I do enjoy TOS, it's still not as enjoyable for me as TNG and VOY. I never got into DS9 really. Not sure why. I'm thinking of giving it another go soon.

The first 2 new movies were ok I thought, 3rd was trash. Discovery isn't great and certainly not what I consider star trek. The Orville is awesome though and I feel it currently holds the mantle. Picard is quite good imo, but still not great.

Anyway, so those are my thoughts on the franchise basically and happy to be here :D

Haha It is. Nice to meet you too.

When you met Patrick Steward did you happen to ask him any interesting questions about the show/movies you can share?

Not really - I didn't ask him anything, come to think of it. If anything, HE was the one who was asking ME questions because he's the type who is curious about people he meets. We basically just had a normal conversation about stuff and things tho - which he seemed to appreciate, I think he was glad that he didn't have to talk about his career for a change, lol. :)

Which is nice. Celebrities aren't always allowed to share everything.

When I met him it was shortly after the official title for LOGAN had been announced. He did mention the movie in a passing remark but I simply nodded but didn't press further because I knew he wouldn't be allowed to talk about it, and I already knew everything there was to know about it at that point anyway. It wasn't why I was there, I was there to see HIM, and not for an interview or something, and I therefore decided to leave questions about his projects to people who ask these for a living. ;)

Oh I see, fair enough then. That's awesome you met him though! :)

It meant the world to me, yes. Wasn't the first time I met him but the first time I was given the chance to have a longer conversation with him. He's an amazing man and it all only made me love him even more. (Never thought that would be possible but in this case I was glad to be proven wrong, heh.)

I'm new here, and this looks like the place to put my first post.

Trek fan since I was a kid. Great memories of watching TOS on my grandmother's couch.

I've read a bunch of the novels based off of TOS - my favorite is probably Yesterday's Son. I need to find a new copy of that, as it's been awhile since I've read it.

Even though I still gravitate toward TOS, I love all of it. I have recently started re-watching DS9 and I'm loving it like it was the first time I've seen it, because it's been awhile for me with that as well.

Anyway, hello!

Good day. My name is Gord. I recognize rredmond from another forum.

I am not a fan of TOS. I did watch some episodes bitd, but I fell in love with TNG. Me my brother and a friend were living together without cable TV. We got 2-3 channels. TNG was in syndication and as on 5 nights a week on one of the channels. The rest is history.

A couple years ago a started to binge watch the entire run of the newer shows. I started with Enterprise and worked my way through TNG, DS9 and finished with Voyager. It was a great run. I feel I know the show so well now.

Welcome to TrekBBS everyone (new recruits and returning Admirals, like myself!). I hope you have a good time here.

I'm only binge watching Voyager now on Netflix, as I didn't take to it when I first started watching Star Trek 24 years ago. It's not my favourite of the Treks but it's more tolerable now than it used to be. I think it was the first couple of seasons which put me off so I started off with season 3 this time!

Hello All,
I’m excited to find this site. Your friendly half-Klingon-half human trying to balance both parts here.

I’ve been a Star Trek fan since I was a kid in the 80s growing up on TNG. I’ve not seen as many of the films, but I love DS9 and Voyager. I’ve recently gone back and watched TNG films to help fill in the gaps for Picard. I also enjoy Discovery; although, that seems to be an unpopular sentiment here. I’ve tried to watch TOS, but I just can’t get into it.
