Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

I know what the term means, I have never heard it used in Star Trek as a label for a fleet or Task Force before.

Its generally used to indicate a group of smaller vessels rather than large ones.

I do hope Starfleet doesn't turn up to the battle with a bunch of shuttles and fighters.
Worker Bees and shuttle pods. When Clancy sends a "fuck you" she doesn't fool around.

What's really strange is that Memory Alpha has a whole page dedicated to it but I am still looking to see if the specific term of "task force" is actually used.

This is a completely minor, but why did they talk about a "squadron"? Isn't it usually task force or fleet? I kept thinking squadron of fighters.

When it comes to Naval/Military terms, Trek has always played loose. Although I was happy to see Picard refer to his night watch duty on the Reliant. It irks me when characters refer to being on shift in Trek. On a ship, you stand a watch not do a shift.
