The New Mutants -- news, rumors, opix, etc;

Interesting take on Karma, though I'm not sure if I'd feel comfortable with it without seeing the full context of the intended scene. It would definitely go against Karma's background in the comics, as she was the first official member of the team and has always tried not to use her power maliciously, unlike her brother (who became associated with the criminal elements of the family, and later turned out to be not quite dead after Karma had seemingly been forced to kill him years earlier).

Possible it would've been an adaptation of Karma's disappearance when she was under the control of the Shadow King running her/his own criminal underground. That she would join the team after they freed her from the monster controlling her.

Personally I would've focused the second movie on Warlock and made Magus the villain. That way you can set up Sym and Limbo and the technovirus so that you can do Inferno in the 3rd film. But then, I'd've also included Karma in the first one.

And... not getting released next month thanks to you-know-what. Is this the most cursed film ever?

Wow, they just can't catch a break with this poor movie. It's a shame to, because I was actually starting to look forward to it.

I was about to post about this. Honestly, it felt inevitable considering No Time to Die and Fast and Furious 9 were both delayed.

And they're not the only ones. Mulan, Antlers, and The Quiet Place 2 are all delayed, too (also Peter Rabbit 2, but I don't care about that steaming pile of trash).

Yeah, but at least in this case, it's not it's fault and probably won't actually suffer from it (at least from an image standpoint) since so many other big films are also being delayed.

Just stream it to us and get this out already, everyone on earth is going to be self quarantined and bored with nothing to do anyways. Now's the time for streaming to step up and say "You're welcome".

I suppose if there is an upside, at one point this was speculated as being dumped on Hulu or something and now it's worth delaying its release.
Indeed, after No Time To Die's release was postponed, I remember a joke being made on the radio station I listen to in the mornings. "I suspect the only movies which are going to be keeping their original release dates are the ones that were expected to flop anyway." Apparently that's not The New Mutants.

Ah, that's a great point and reassuring. Not that I expected a sequel but it's good to know Disney has confidence in the film.

We may actually see a complete halt in movie releases in the coming weeks. Here In BC, Canada, any events involving gatherings of more than 250 people are cancelled.

They should just release the movies online. That's how many people watch them these days anyway. Maybe theater chains should just start operating pay-per-view websites. (And deliver popcorn and snacks by drone. That would almost be worth what they charge for them.)
