No, this is being confused by what transpired and trying to figure it all out, and how the hell it got so personal all of the sudden. Hence the :shrug::shrug:

I don't give a crap here about whatever effigy needs beating. This is supposed to be a discussion not a boxing ring.
Welp, apparently, it's all my fault.
So I can be a martyr as well and take all the blame.
My apologies for asking a legit question to a strange interpretation of things that transpired in the episode.

Yeah, It took a long time for the general population to accept TOS was a pretty sexist show even though I’d been saying it forever. A lot of people still don’t admit to it. I’ve had a lot of other opinions I’ve been vindicated on in the long run. I’m very patient.

Why wait? Chabon's still taking questions, last time I checked.

He who apologizes first is the bravest. I commend your bravery.

If you were investigating there are those up arrows I’m sure you’re fully aware of that take you back through a discussion. But, again, it’s fine. Let’s just be clear about what exactly is fine.

So how many of the Soji/Dahj/Jana androids did Maddox make? I remember the speculation of being 5 of them because of the poker hand that Data had. But that was a dream by Picard so it probably is not related.
I thought that too, except why have Aggie make a big deal about Sojis three facial birth marks that the actress doesn't seem to actually have... Three non existent birth marks and three Soji type Androids, maybe?

Re: "Its not Trek, its dystopian"

1. PICARDS very speech this episode should dissuade one of that. At least He's still fighting the good fight.

2. Depressing?? Dystopisn?? YALL dont know shit.

NUBSG was depressing!! NuBSG was the only show that i swore off watching even though i loved it (Cause of content and irregular scheduling)...only of course to say "I cant take it!! Whats happening ??/ Who killed themself?? What happened??"

I thank you for that, but there's no bravery involved.
My EGO isn't so delicate that I have to defend it to the bitter end every time someone disagrees with any of my posts around here.
Hell, I've been wrong many more times in my 20+ years around here than I would really care to admit, but I guess that's what happens when ya forget to be perfect every single moment of the day.
;)

Same here. I quit nuBSG after Bastille Day because it was just downright awful and unpleasant. I rarely believe in TV shows causing depression but that one would be a quick way to induce it.

I hope that the ancient aliens that were destroyed after making synthetic life forms are revealed to be a known extinct alien empire mentioned in TOS or TNG.

I agree, BSG was too dang depressing.
That's why I also gave up on Reality TV years ago.
I never understood why anybody would want to air their "dirty laundry" to a large part of the world.
Even if the money was good.

I find it very interesting that the mini-collective Seven was queen of referred to her as Annika and not Seven.

Why Bastille Day, though? That ep was relatively upbeat; they did find a way to all work together in the end.

Interesting. I just was about to post...I can see why he'd duck out. It's kind of a misstep IMHO. But its also not far removed from one of the greatest eps in sci-fi history '33'.

Perhaps deep down, she realizes that everything she has been through since leaving her original collective, would constantly be pulling at her and be disruptive to a hive mind?

Looking at the meaning of the word dystopian, it comes down to the perspective of the characters. For the androids from the Ghulian system, it might be dystopian as they are experiencing "great suffering or injustice". They are being hunted down by a fanatical cult who are acting as judge, jury, and executioner.

Because I realized that the happiest moment in the series was that Apollo didn't shoot a prisoner. There was no enjoyable aspect to me about the show, the characters were not enjoyable and I didn't feel a need to progress forward. It felt like misery for the sake of mistery.

Like I said, I don't usually ascribe depression to shows but even watching SF Debris do a review of it put me in a bad mood for no good reason. It's just not something that appeals to me.

Re: Nerek knowing where they were...they must be able to track synths within a certain range. How else did they even know two synths had appeared on their radar?? And where to find them over and over?

Unlike the original, I don't believe that NuBSG was ever meant to be upbeat.

Johnathan DelArco himself called the show dystopian. And most dystopians have a glimmer of hope in the midst of the hell or at the end of the tunnel. So no, overall tone is very dystopian.
