I wonder if that was the Queen speaking through Seven or if it was her original Borg "programming" for lack of a better term?

Wow ... do you find it that difficult to carry on a conversation without being antagonistic to folks who disagree with you?
Because it’s not antagonistic to put words like “I want a simplistic narrative, etc, etc,” in my mouth? You’re even picking and choosing your social outrage.

As I understand it, it's the not the synths who are the real threat. It's whatever lashes out whenever a species develops synthetic life. (See the analogy to Cochrane inventing the warp drive, thus attracting the attention of the Vulcans.)
\

I am preparing for a second rewatch, but I did not take this from the show. Though I have to admit it is a possibility.

I took it that the synths themselvs were the threat, and that the destruction was a result of a conflict that resulted. Most likely destroying the creators and created both.

There were a bunch of xBs that jumped on Narissa and were beating her up right before she beamed out.
She must have that on speed dial.

Picard saying how Data's emotional abilities were "limited" was jarring because it focused only on Data's TNG time (and thus the time the audience was mostly familiar with) and not the 8 years of offscreen Enterprise E time when Data had an emotions chip and Picard would have been around him.
It's more about Picard taking a moment of self reflection.

So what's Data doing in a 200,000 year old vision?
Soong is really old. I noted elsewhere that Ruk has a similar skin tone to Data. Hmmmmm

A couple of dumb moments (predictably), and the holo joke is really getting played out.
It was the pay off to the joke, IMO.

Making Oh half Romulan and half Vulcan seems like a missed opportunity to make her Saavik.
Why? Not every half Romulan has to be Saavik. And Saavik is no traitor.

Well it would add to the depressing dystopian tone, with Riker and Troi's kid dead, Hugh dead, etc. And it would make Saavik responsible for Spock's death in an alternate timeline too.

Would Hugh have had the willpower to resist becoming Borg King?
Best he can be is a Locutus

The question is why doesn't Oh mind meld everyone into becoming a Zhat Vash? All of Starfleet Command for instance? (Hey a bunch of scorpions did it in "Conspiracy")

She could have mind melded Clancy and Picard into being Zhat Vash fanatics.
Who did she mind meld into being a Zhat Vash fanatic?

Why wasn't Narek (or any other male) given the Admonition or at least a mind meld of it?
Might be related to why the Qowat Milat are female. There seems to be a history between the two sects.

I mean in regards to the Zhat Vash attacking Mars back when there was a Romulan Empire.
Who says the Romulan government knew?

Another great episode...however as I'm in Scotland , Rios Scottish accent was absolutely awful, more of a mockery. I know he's pulling off different characters but I think that one really didn't work lol
So...it's Star Trek? ;)

Data is an android. There have been plenty of androids. And aside from Lore and Rokk....probably the only truly sentient ones. Sorry if you can be tricked into turning off with a skit....you arn't sentient.

The big bad...obviously

I thought Kor was dead.

Rather selfish of that captain to not vaporise himself. Leaving all that mess for Rios to clean up.
Where's a Hospitality Hologram when you need one?

Heh ... social outrage ... that's funny ... now who's picking and choosing ...
How about just plain old egotistical rudeness on your part.
Anyway,
You were quite correct in an earlier post, but it's you that is not worth wasting words on.

Have an absolutely lovely evening.

Thanks for tone policing me. You have a nice day, too.

Someone survive, moved eight stars together, and hung a planet under them and left a warning of what could happen.

Saying that doesn't mean he agrees with the Federation's decision to abandon them. He just saw it coming.

Bingo. At no point has the show established that Riker was opposed to the Romulan evacuation or that he urged Picard to let the Romulans die. He simply pointed out to Picard, rather ruefully, that dealing with all those Romulans was going to be a long-term headache.

It's the difference between "I knew this was going to suck, but what else were we supposed to do?" and "I knew this was going to suck, so we should have never done it!"

It's possible to point out that a course of action is going to have negative consequences (like being "ass-deep in Romulans" for the rest of your career) while still realizing that the course of action is necessary.

I think there is a timeline inconsistency, the plaque in the second episode indicated it had been 16 years since an assimilation. Subsequent episode revealed the Shaenor with Auntie Ramdha was assimilated prior and I think we are lead to believe that it's Shaenor and specifically Ramdha that causes the submatrix collapse.

But this episode indicated that the Zhat Vash knitting circle experienced the full joy of the Admonition 14 years ago.

Shouldn't Ramdha be on the Artifact going through a deassimilation facial when she is also have her post Admonition hair pulling fest?

More about the Riker thing: We also need to consider the context of Riker's remark. This was not Riker angrily confronting Picard during an urgent policy debate. "I WARNED you, Picard! I told you your grand evacuation plan was a huge mistake! We should have never helped those no-good Romulans!"

It was an old friend good-naturedly ribbing another friend. "Didn't I say that the Romulans were going to be a pain in the ass?"

Which should have been obvious to anyone watching the scene.

Couldn't the same be said of saying that people are using technobabble for themselves regarding the show?
Again, this is picking and choosing what a slight is. That person started a conversation with me with the line “Have you forgotten how computers work?” long before I said the above to them. But, yeah, whatever. I’m the effigy you need to beat. You can have it.

No, this is being confused by what transpired and trying to figure it all out, and how the hell it got so personal all of the sudden. Hence the :shrug::shrug:

I don't give a crap here about whatever effigy needs beating. This is supposed to be a discussion not a boxing ring.

Very much so, Seven now has control over an Active Borg Cube and Elnor is still with her.

They are both going to show again up before this season ends.
I was thinking that the Enterprise was going to ride to the rescue of La Sirena and DataWorld. I had been kind of thinking that since the season began and the STFU with Clancy also seemed to foreshadow it.

But maybe it's going to be Seven, Elnor and the Artifact?
