Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

I think they are going for a more long form type of storytelling that we haven't seen on trek before. It's going to be a novel in television form and the story that started this season will play out across all three.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who came to this conclusion. Seems pretty freaking obvious to me, but what do I know?

Also there are plenty of themes. Aging, regret, finding purpose, failing and returning from failure, identity, and what constitutes a life and reality are all themes that have been present across the last 7 episodes.
Amongst others. Redemption/ forgiveness, family (of choice or blood), particularly parent/ child relationships, which leads to the theme of one's legacy; they also play with a lot of other themes (forgetting vs remembering etc.) along the way. Lack of themes or ideas, imho, is NOT one of the problems of this show.

I doubt we're going to get Picard and Soji off on some wacky adventure to a diplomatic conference next season.

They’ve said season 1 is a 10 part story. So I still think the main plot will wrap up, but will lead into a new connected plot for season 2.

A concept: what if the title doesn’t commit Sir Pat to the end, and it goes from being the main character to about the crew carrying his legacy post-Jean Luc?

how would you feel?

The immediate situation will be resolved in Season 1. Then they'll find out there's something bigger behind it all. What we're seeing right now is a microcosm of a larger story.

Depends on how they do it. But I like this cast. So I'd watch them even without Picard.

Does anyone think that Picard will be regarded as an outlaw for protecting Soji in season 2?

"Jean-Luc Picard! Renegade and terrorist! Not only is he responsible for the destruction of the Artifact and the murder of the Romulan crew, but see now the real plot and intentions. Even as the Federation was negotiating a peace treaty with us, Admiral Picard and his band of criminals aboard the La Sirena were conspiring with an undercover synth, Soji Asha, then sent her on to the Artifact, on a mission to set the stage for the annihilation of the Romulan People! We demand the extradition of Picard! We demand justice!"

That's a TUC reference, isn't it?

Depends if the truth about the Mars attacks comes out. If Starfleet finds out it was a coordinated attack from a outside party, they might apologise to Picard and revoke the ban.

"Romulan Justice is a unique point of view."
