TOS was not utopian.Nope, TOS, It was enhanced in TNG, but it was there in TOS.

I just head canon'ed this forum away as a Pon Farr fever dream.![]()
Then you should know that canon is ever changing and all series have continuity errors.I have watched TOS on repeat for years. TNG to a lesser extent. As Picard draws from TNG except for a few things, I think I have some knowledge about Star Trek. I have literally been watching it my whole life.
But Discovery has taken that to a new level.
SO, you've mellowed like a fine wine with age?
The threshold is different for everyone. Then you should know that canon is ever changing and all series have continuity errors.

I meant T******dSir, I'm sorry, but your voice is carrying. I don't think you want to be discussing this subject in public.
Pretty sure if a ship was named 'Pussyslayer' the captain it would be honoring would be Jim Kirk. The USS Pussyslayer could have been named after a classical music group. Or maybe it was named in honor of Starfleet Captain Earlington Pussyslayer.
why? did he kill cats?Pretty sure if a ship was named 'Pussyslayer' the captain it would be honoring would be Jim Kirk.

According to auntie Wikipedia:
"Fuck is a profane English-language word which often refers to the act of sexual intercourse but is also commonly used as an intensifier or to denote disdain. While its origin is obscure, it is usually considered to be first attested to around 1475."
The most interesting part here is its use as an intensifier. The part that's unrealistic to me is that "fuck" is still a swear word 300 years from now, not that it's abso-fucking-lutely still in use. I expect it to go the way the German word "geil" (roughly: horny) went. When I was little I better not be caught saying it by my grandparents, but by now it's used to say that something is (roughly) "fucking awesome" just as often if not more often than its original meaning.
Nah, I think we're gonna keep this one to be the mega "I'm just here to bitch about the show" thread.Maybe we should put it to a vote so the mods can take this thread out behind the barn already.
I actually remember when the word shit became available for basic cable programming because South Park did an entire episode with a ticker in the corner counting off how many times any of the character said the word "shit". The funny thing is after that episode aired, they still continue to bleep the word.No one is trying to do that. It's about using curse words in Trek. From damn and hell in TOS to Merde and shit in TNG to fuck in DISCO and PIC. As censorship relaxes more words become available.
