Very likely.

There isn't a literal Romulan Borg queen, it's just that the (ex-)Borg have traded one master for another. They used to be ruled by a queen, now it's the Romulans.

Wait, I'm confused. I thought maybe one of the liberated Romulan xBs had been the queen, and now she was Romulan... again.

I thought it was the same box, the idea was that opening it slowly and with patience gets you the figurine, rushing gets you the gas.
I just saw it as a puzzle box - you have to find the right combination to get it to open, thus it teaches kids patience and strategy. Those who can't learn the technique can't get the box open - didn't Narek have a line about his sister breaking hers open, or something? (Or did I imagine that?) I thought it was pretty clear that he doctored the toy to add the poison gas for Soji's sake, it wouldn't normally have poison gas inside - I mean, even Romulans wouldn't give their kids toys that could wipe out a whole roomful of people if they happened to get it open at the wrong time!

This has probably been discussed already but did anyone else think the impossible box releasing the radiation to kill Soji was very reminiscent of the Thalaron device in the Senate scene at the start of Nemesis?

My faith in this season has been restored. I think because I find Soji, Narek and Hugh to be more intriguing at this point than Rios, Jurati or Raffi (though I really, really want to like Raffi and co)

Same.
This was definitely a great episode. I think the score really added to the scenes as well. My favorite part was when Soji got activated. A bit cliched in terms of film and television but I think it was portrayed in a pretty exciting way nonetheless.

I did see that posted before. Missed it myself, but now that I've had it pointed out to me, I think it's correct.
